I don't understand the line of thinking that the ONLY way the house was in disrepair is that it MUST have been destroyed in some big act by the Nazis or Walt Jr. (really?), and that the ONLY explanation for the neighbor's reaction is that she thinks Walt is dead. Are those possible explanations? Sure.

But from what I've seen, the more logical jump to make is that the skaters (and vagrants, etc) have destroyed the house and use it to party in since it's a crime scene and is still vacant, and the lady freaks because her former neighbor who was the fabled Heisenberg and is on the run from the law, has suddenly shown up in his driveway and gives her a simple "Hello".

Hey, Breaking Bad certainly goes for the outrageous at times, so I won't be surprised at anything in these next few episodes, but I think some of you may be overlooking the obvious for the outrageous in everything now

I don't see Walt using the Ricin to kill someone unless its himself. I mean the guy has an M60, he's not trying to be subtle with who he kills. The only reason he would use the Ricin on another person is if he wanted to kill someone he loves, but couldn't handle shooting them.

Maybe the Ricin has another use entirely?

Latest word is the flash forward scene from Denny's, while buying the gun, is actually the final cliffhanger scene for the last episode. A movie is in the works due to the recent viewership numbers.

Guess this won't be resolved for another year.

The opening scene flashback was the last scene shot for the series. Walt needed to shave beard for the scene and they didn't want him wearing a fake in the last 2 episodes

Ricin poisoning is a slow horrific death. He's not using it on someone he loves and I highly doubt himself. I think his intent will be to use it as part of a 2 stage kill. First stage is that he's able to kill target 1 without raising suspicion of target 2 that he intends harm. Second stage is target 2, the M60, and a large bloodbath. I'm thinking Lydia stage 1 and nazi's stage 2. If he ends up ingesting the ricin, I think it would be motivated only by selling the ruse (like Gus did) except in this case, he knows its a suicide mission anyway (unlike Gus). He could poison target 1 (and himself if necessary) and still have time to go shoot it out with target 2 before the ricin killed him. Up to 1 day before symptoms and 3-5 for death.

Danny - lets say for a minute you're into something and that target 1 is Lydia. Todd is in love with Lydia. Walt could use the ricin to take her out without raising his suspicion, because he's a sociopathic nazi who would come after him hard if he knew she was murdered. He then goes to take out the nazis with the m60 and maybe before shooting him tells Todd he killed Lydia a la telling Jesse he killed Jane.

The movie will be very good, I am looking forward to it. 100 mlion plus, easy. Cash grab but good for us fans too.

Why does Walt want to kill Lydia?

She's a loose end.

There's not a reason to kill Lydia ... yet. But I also think he's not motivated to kill the nazi's yet either. Some **** is going to go down this next episode that motivates Walt for the final showdown. Probably about the tape, possibly about the cook. Lydia is tied into both as she's incriminated on the tape, supremely paranoid, and ready to have people killed at the drop of a hat to protect herself, so she could easily tie in somehow and become a target for Walt.

My main point isn't as much about who the target is - just that they are in 2 places and he wants to move on 1 without causing alarm for the other which is how the ricin comes into play. Lydia and the nazis just fit because I think they are still tied together and are most likely to eventually be tied into Walt's motivation to kill, yet they're also two parties that would be difficult for Walt predictably get in the same place.

We've got thoughts on that subject, but we surprisingly don't have that nailed down as much as you might expect. We go back and forth about that all the time. So we are really in a state of flux right now. We are in a decidedly undecided state.


In my cover story, Bryan Cranston mentioned that he asked you a bunch of questions about the flash-forward. When he asked, "Why am I back?" you told him, "To protect someone." Is that an answer that you're gonna stick with?

I wouldn't shy away from sticking with that, just because it's been in print, but we really are – we're questioning everything at this point. It doesn't give me great pause to have that out there. But having said that, we're not, at this point, afraid to change it, either. Our prime directive here – our mandate – is to make the ending as satisfying and as dramatic as possible. To that end, we've got a lot of good ideas, I feel, but any minute that a better idea comes along, we'll jettison the good idea for the better idea, no matter where it may take us. So could go either way. Could wind up being exactly that, or could be something different.

Lydia will be involved in the last two episodes... I doubt the writers set up the "crush" Meth Damon has on her to just let that story line die.

And Walt may have had a change of heart regarding Jesse in the time he's been in hiding. I just can't imagine he'd be going back to protect his family.

I'm pretty sure his family would be under police protection/surveillance/moved the hell out of New Mexico based on that phone conversation Walt had with Skylar... The nazis or Lydia would not be able to get near them.

From the timeline I'm guessing that several months have to pass before we get to the end so once Walt is gone for a while after he disappears then maybe Skyler & the kids will go back to a normal life at which time the nazis could come to get them.

what's a normal life for them?

Two missing DEA agents, a multi-hundred million dollar meth empire, the guy who led it all on the run, evidence that Skylar was involved even under duress...

That kind of stuff doesn't just get "cleared up" in 8 months.

The house is police property, likely seized after the confession over the phone. They probably engage in a well-publicized manhunt for Walter, considering he's a murderer of cops on the loose, and he becomes a cult legend. Damage to house could have been done by any group of kids just looking for a good time. If the police know you are a drug kingpin and have killed multiple DEA agents AND they know you're on the run, they will go public with it. Carol is shocked to see him because she knows he's a killer and has been on the run for a while.

If he really wanted to get revenge on the Nazis for killing Hank while continuing to torture Jesse, he could use the M60 on the Nazis and the ricin on Jesse. Then he could taunt a suffering, dying Jesse for 3 days as he slowly dies. Of course that wouldn't be very exciting, so it won't happen.
