That looks fun. I have cautious hopes. Looking forward to having Star Wars back on the big screen

Grogu hasn't given up the Jedi ways just yet

This would be an ideal place for SW version of White Snake's "Here I Go Again"

This abortion that never happened killed Solo's chances.

Way better than the teaser, this looks like it should be a lot of fun and leans into what made the first season of the show so good. Which I now feel the need to do a rewatch of.

Well, I see two characters from Clone Wars and Rebels that I hadn't seen before but y'all probably already knew about that since I never watched S3 of Mandalorian.

Martin Scorsese Voices Ardennian Shopkeeper in New 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' Trailer

The full trailer for the The Mandalorian and Grogu is officially out in the world revealing interesting new details and celebrity cameos. Polygon has confirmed with Disney and Lucasfilm that the Ardennian shopkeeper seen in the trailer that Din Djarin seeks to buy information on the Hutts from is none other than renowned filmmaker, Martin Scorsese.

I didn't know you hadn't, so thanks for the update I've been patiently waiting for.

Looks fun, but also very intentionally like the trailers for the first 2 seasons where everything in the trailer was in the first 3 episodes and they played the big stuff (Fett, Thrawn, Ahoska, Luke, etc.) very close to the vest.

I think they tipped their hand that either Luke or Ahsoka is in it by having Mando say "the kid will live centuries beyond me" - they're the only 2 people alive who could have possibly known that.
Mando might be smart enough to realize that a being who is 50 years old and still a toddler is going to live a long time.

Also pretty sure when Ashoka was with Mando in either season 2 or those two random episodes in BoBF that she brings up how this species ages and lives a long time…

Here's my hot take out of left field.

Mando Season 1 was set 9 years after ROTJ.

So let's say it's been 3-5 years since then.

If Luke Skywalker is in it, could we possibly see his 12-14 year old nephew along for an adventure?

On its face, I agree with Disney. Ben Solo is dead. Disney is already under fire for how they handled the sequel trilogy so I certainly understand not wanting to throw money at Ben Solo.

On the other hand, who led them down a two year path of putting this project together?

Is this the same thing that happened to the now-defunct Rey movie, only that played out in public while this seemingly took place behind the scenes?

This was apparently the first Star Wars movie that Disney said no to. Up until then, if Kennedy wanted to make it, Disney/Iger made it.

Movies were developed at Lucasfilm, then, when ready to present to Disney/Iger, if Kennedy backed it, Disney/Iger gave it the green light, almost as a formality.

So, early in the development process, when Kennedy gave her stamp of approval on The Hunt for Ben Solo, precedent up to that point said that her approval was, essentially, the de facto green light. There was no precedent/expectation of a "no" from Disney/Iger. Hence Soderbergh then being willing to commit two-and-a-half years to the development process.

Also... he's Steven Soderbergh.

A legend.

Who in their right mind would say no to Steven Soderbergh wanting to make a Star Wars movie? Well, now we have our answer.

I have mixed feelings on this. I think it's brain dead that they didn't make this at the time considering who the director was and the fact that Adam Driver was the biggest star in that abortion of a trilogy. Maybe it could have redeemed it somewhat.

However, in 2026, I have zero desire to see this. We need to move on from that arc. It's over. It's dead. It never existed.

It would be a slam dunk to introduce a young Ben Solo in the mando/grogu movie and then have a 1-3 movie swing of him falling to the dark side.

Some of it's already built into comics and books that they could draw from - his parents don't tell him about the Vader connection until someone else tells EVERYONE in the galaxy in a book; he and Luke and young what's his face - the old guy from the beginning of TFA - go on a mission together looking for Jedi artifacts and that's the first time he encounters the Knights of Ren; there's a passing reference to Luke having a fight with Snoke in which he totally effed Snoke up;
You don't need Soderbergh to do it, we could do it.
