Well this looks absolutely fantastic.

From writer/director Shane Black, who calls this a "spiritual sequel" to Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, one of my favorite movies of the past decade or so (also written and directed by Black). Seriously, there are so many great lines/exchanges in this trailer. Can't believe we have to wait 'til next summer to see the whole thing...

As much as I like the (well made) superhero movies, etc. that are dominating the marker these days, it's movies like this one (if it ends up being as good as promised) that stick with me and become favorites that I'll own and watch again and again.

I'm in. I wish this trailer didn't come out with such a long wait. I loved Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, so glad Shane Black is back to doing a noir film. I didn't care for Iron Man 3, looks like he'll make up for it here.

For sure. We saw glimpses with Crazy, Stupid, Love, but the past few months it's like he's found a new gear. Between The Big Short and a couple of his appearances presenting awards, of all places (I think at The Golden Globes and The Oscars), he's been legit hilarious.

Saw this tonight and loved it. Best non comic book movie I've seen this year other than Everybody Wants Some. It's the perfect comedy/detective movie and Crowe and Gosling work so well together. Loved the 1977 setting and all of the characters. I laughed throughout the whole movie and enjoyed all the action scenes and gun fights. I don't think there was anything I didn't like about it. I hope this does well in the box office.

looks awesome. in ads running now they say its 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Thats incredible...actually I just looked and its 90% but thats still high for this kind of movie I think.

must see.

Good to hear. I was looking forward to this when the trailer dropped. I got worried when they have been running non stop tv trailers, that can indicate a movie is no good. I said it earlier but I love LA noir, plus throw some comedy in too and I'm on board!

I guess I will be the dissenting voice. I saw it tonight and thought it was 'meh' at best. It just wasn't funny. Some parts were amusing but I maybe loled twice in two hours.

**Spoilers below**

I hate children on TV and in movies and this was no exception. Holly was the stereotypical know-it-all teenager who has to put up with her (mostly) dumbass father. Stowing away to go to an adult-themed party? Watching pornos with sickies? Fighting black women? Preaching to Healy about morality?! C'mon, you're 13. Shut up and play your damn screamo.

Add to that the dumbassery of Amelia. I thought the best part of the movie was her getting killed! Served that crazy ***** right!

Then the spiel about smog and Big Auto, etc. It just didn't reasonate. You know there is going to be a sequel too.

Overall I was very disappointed. The first movie I've seen in theaters this year. Guess I'll just wait until Rogue One before I see another.
