I like this show a lot, but I knew it was about to change super hard after being so happy early.

As my buddy mentioned... Constant sense of dread. Everyone is too happy.

Agree no show in history has made a bigger jump than this one did from Season 1 to 2.

Enjoyed the first episode.

I thought the entire time it would be the red head from the opening that was riding the bike. Wasn't prepared for Nora.

This show is such a mind F in the absolute best way. Already looking forward to next week.

Season 2 hotel episode links in the premier. Closet scene...officers outfit...plus flashbacks to him coming out of the bathtub, and killing that one guilty remnant chick.

No idea what it means yet - the episode could be another parallel experience similar to after he drank the poison. But I'm ALL the way in again. What a fantastic show.

I finally had a chance to watch Sunday's episode and I am so, so in. That final scene was Lindelof going full Lost and I haven't had that feeling watching an episode of television in nearly seven years. I almost forgot what it was like, that feeling of mystery + epic time jump that sends the imagination reeling. I love it so much. Seriously, I know this horse has been beaten to death, but I can't think of another show that went from crushingly depressing/loathsome to emotional, mind-bending awesomeness like this one has, and I cannot wait to see where these next seven episodes take us.

A few other thoughts/questions:

- A drone strike incinerating the Guilty Remnant is maybe the most satisfying thing I've seen on TV in years, and such a pleasant surprise.

- The three-year time jump was a great call, and the whole seven year thing had somehow never crossed my mind until now. I love how it not only further plays right into Revelations but also provides a natural ticking clock.

- I cannot wait 'til the season takes us to Australia, and I'm so curious as to why. Those scenes look so cool/interesting in the season preview.

- Why was Kevin suffocating himself? Was he "simply" getting his kicks by flirting with death - like a druggy taking a hit - or did he actually/purposely kill himself and take another spiritual journey we'll see at a later point? OR - is everything we're seeing after that scene the spiritual journey (my least favorite theory)?

I learn toward the getting his kicks and trying to feel something rather than actually trying to kill himself. I did think the comment someone else made in the thread about him doing that and jumping in the water was because he had no fear of hurting himself was an interesting idea, though.

I'm more interested in why Mark Linn-Baker faked his departure. I hope they delve more into that.

Maybe Kevin is trying to kill himself to prove to himself that he is nothing special and it back fires.
But this three years later does not seem like reality. Too much of everyone getting along, and where and why did Kevin's daughter show up and where has she been?

Given that he was ready with materials, my guess is Kevin suffocates himself as part of his daily routine now. We'll find out why soon most likely

Holy sh*t. I have no idea what they're building toward, but it sure as hell makes for phenomenal TV.

First of all, I just happen to have clicked on this tweet earlier today (though, now looking at this guy's feed, I think he has some kind of affiliation with HBO)...

Still, how awesome/random is it that they somehow worked Mark-Linn Baker into this episode? As himself? In that kind of role?

As for that ending... so... I'm assuming those four women on horses are somehow from the future? Or something? The main one seemingly quotes the book/gospel Matt wrote, re: Kevin, and they're obviously looking for "Kevin" the "police chief," they just got the wrong one. And we know Kevin is now on his way to Australia, so maybe they "arrived" too soon?

Either way, are they from the same Australian church in the future where we saw Nora/Sara and that nun at the end of last episode?

Is the machine Baker refers to actually real?

Does it have something to do with time travel?

What the hell is going on???

Man, I love this so much. Like I said last week, and am even more convinced of now... Lindelof is going full-on Lost mode with nothing to lose, and I couldn't be happier.

"Standing Tall" being played on the piano was hysterical.

That scene between Kevin and Nora, where she laughs. The look on Kevin's face. Heartbreaking.

Also I missed that Nora was dressed in white in the hotel, while smoking.

4 Horsewomen of the Apocalypse? j/k

1. It is the present. But they are from the alternate dimension, which is where Nora is at the end of episode 1 last week.

2. You see those doves with messages? Those are the doves with messages of love that people release for their loved ones like back in Season 1. Nora is now on the other side of the rift, helping collect those messages? Maybe deliver them to the departed.

3. Time and dimensional travel. Time moves differently in the other dimension.

That makes so much more sense. Good call. And I knew there was something with doves in a prior season, I just couldn't remember what.

not saying I am right, just that it makes narrative sense.

part of me hopes that there is no multidimensional, religious resolution to all of this.

Such a great show. Though I might have to stop reading this thread. I don't like reading to many theories about a show I love, because then if a theory is right it kind of ruins the reveal to me.

The Perfect Strangers aspect of it all was just so great.

I also loved the son/cops line to Nora. "I didn't leave her for you. I left her for my dad. I didn't even know you existed." ouch.

And WU TANG AIN'T NOTHING TO F WITH!!!!

Through the first episodes I keep thinking that IF HBO really does bring True Detective back that Justin Theroux would be NAILS in it.

This show is all kinds of crazy. And I love it. Next week they look like they go even crazier from the previews. I don't know where the hell this thing is going to end up.

Anyone notice CC has trouble with technology n both shows. First the checkin kiosk at the airport and the parking ticket machine. Then in fargo she can't get the store motion sensor door to open.
