I was looking for something to watch on Friday and TV had no options, so I checked Netflix and gave 3% a try. I almost turned it off during the first episode, but ended up getting hooked and watching all 8 episodes of season 1 during the weekend.
It's set in some future society where almost everybody is poor. Every year, citizens who turned 20 have a chance to go through a set of tests and trials in order to become one of the 3% who live in a utopian city called "The Offshore".
It has two knocks against it: 1) It's a Brazilian show and they speak Portuguese the whole time, so you have to read subtitles and 2) It's production value is not quite as good as American/European shows. I wouldn't say the show is Breaking Bad good or anything, but it was worth the time I spent watching it, and I'm looking forward to season 2.
