I disagree a little bit on Westworld, I think what happens in Westworld, with no context of what the world is like outside of it, is part of the mystique of the show.

And I like the idea of seeing the war in the Matrix, but I don't know how you'd pull it off without it seeming like a Terminator ripoff.

I'd like to see the origin story of The Borg, if only because I think you could do a sort of analog to modern society on earth and make it a really good movie. It started with devices to make life easier/better, then as society slowly relied more on these devices and their connectivity people began to lose their individualism and became the collective. The point in time where the individuals became the collective would be what I'd base the movie around.

I'd like to see how that went down.

But also a prequel setup of how all that ish began would be sick too.

Firefly.

As a loyal browncoat myself, Firefly was my first thought as well. But on second thought, Whedon actually did a pretty great job fleshing out the 'verse in just 14 episodes and one movie. We know how the Alliance formed. We know how the browncoats lost. We know how the Reavers were created. We know River's story. We know a lot of Chinese slang and cuss words. What's really left? Shepherd Book's story is the biggest mystery remaining, IMO.
I think we have a few details on the verse but not nearly enough, we don't know how the Brown Coats lost just that they lost. I would love to see a series about the war itself. Maybe from the view of a divided family with people on both sides of the conflict. Maybe even have it tie into Sheppard Book's back story.

Also, Rivers little line, "two by two hands of blue" I still wonder what that was all about and why it didn't make it into the movie. We saw them in one episode on Ariel but that was it...

The agents with blue hands were the first team sent by the Alliance to retrieve River. They failed (see the Dark Horse comics) and were replaced by the Operative (in Serenity)

Explain this line visually

" A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights"

and no, don't show him about to kill a bunch of elementary aged kids nor show me him going into the jedi temple then cut scene nor him killing an old jedi who gave up.

I want to see him hunt down and destroy Jedi Knights.

Oops, I had forgotten about this thread. Some great ideas.I am kicking myself for not initially thinking of the plight of the Browncoats.

If we did a Firefly, I'd want it to be leading up to the wars and have some of the politics fleshed out.

This is a pretty obscure Star Wars thing but in Knights of the Old Republic they always talked about the Mandalorian Wars. Give me that.

They've failed 3 times with the Fantastic 4, could definitely be done well with the right writer, director and cast.

Why are they doing a Shazam movie when we can't even get Superman a proper movie?

After last season of GOT I'm hoping HBO gets the last season done right, also hoping whatever project(s) they choose from the GOT universe turn out well. I think they hired 5 different people to come up with GOT show concepts to potentially develop into a show.

I would really like it if Edgar Wright were to make some more Scott Pilgrim films.

You are absolutely correct.

May be the taxation of trade routes led to civil war?

According to the intro voiceovers by Mal and Book, the central planets formed the Alliance and then tried to force the outlying planets and moons to join too. As Book says, "There was disagreement on that point." Mal says "A few idiots like myself tried to fight it." So there you go. You guys did watch the show, right?

Wow you are easily pleased if you call that an expanded universe.

I hope you are just trolling....

Would love to see Forgotten Realms on screen. The world of Dragonlance would also offer a lot of story and intrigue.

I would love to see another movie in the Mad Max world.

I know we got three with Mel Gibson, but I want to see more of what George Miller can do there at this stage of his career.

Thanks and gig'em

I always felt Highlander was a great concept with awful execution - acting, directing, and writing is so bad.

I always say this one on similar threads but I'm shocked Flash Gordon hasn't been redone or other stories told. There was even a hint at the last one of continuation.

It torments me to this day.

Scrolling through on demand last night I saw Master and Commander. Hadn't seen it in several years. So we'll done. Would really have loved to see more of those movies.

For those of you who read the books, we're you happy with the film version of it?

On a related note, I'm glad they are finally making a sequel to The Incredibles, which I actually think might be Pixar's best movie (with apologies to the Toy Story trilogy).

The show added a bunch to the overall lore and at least in my head I consider that version to be the definitive story of the immortals. The movies constantly contradict each other and are a complete mess (especially Highlander 2). If you haven't watched the Source please do yourself a favor and erase the fact that it exists from your mind. It is terrible, an absolute abomination.

I'd love to see a movie focusing on Methos though, he was my favorite character.
