My dad worked for NBC at this time. He was their only national cameraman in the south. As soon as this happened they sent him there. A lot of the footage during the aftermath came from him cause he was filiming for the "pool"- meaning all networks. I believe he was up there for like 80 days straight or something. He was in FBI private meetings and was on site during the final raid.
During spring break that year my sister, mom and myself drove from Houston to stay with him at his hotel. He took me out to the site. Didn't get to see the compound but got through a couple different perimeters. I was only 12 at the time so didn't know what was going on. I thought it was cool seeing all this FBI people and equipment everywhere. And he took me to Sams club and bought me a bunch of baseball cards.
After Waco we ended up getting a pool that summer. He worked 16 hour days for 80+ days in a row. He always would tell me that assignment paid for it.
Anyways this story is show is fantastic.
