Kayce is on track for Jack Bauer kill #s, yikes
My wife's exact words. She even said this family reminded her of the Ewings. I never watched the show, so I wouldn't know.WestAustinAg said:
She's playing the part of Sue Ellen Ewing. Even looks similar to her.
In fact there are several similarities to Dallas. Father (Jock Ewing) with two boys vying for his approval and one, the black sheep, having nothing to do with Dad. Drunk Sue Ellen who sleeps with everybody. It's a 21st century Dallas.
Yeah this was annoying. I'm guessing they were meth cooks that kidnapped the girl after she tried to hook up with them or buy meth or something. It was just a plot device to introduce Kayce to the father and to set up something in the future, but I wish they could have figured out another way.Quote:
The whole white van thing was just confusing as hell, though. We weren't given one iota of information as to exactly what the hell any of that was.
I like this show a lot but there have been some pretty big eye roll moments for sure. The biggest one for me was Kayce's son killing a large diamondback rattler with his bare hands (and feet?). That is just insulting our intelligence. It's ridiculous enough that they would have a snake slithering TOWARDS a human...but there is just no way that happens.AgGrad99 said:
So they go and burn/bury the bodies...but no one seems concerned that a nine year old saw the whole thing?
And man, Casey has killed 4 people in two episodes. Quite the body count for a private citizen in a week. I also don't like how he just happened to be driving by again...need to work some of this into the story a bit. It's too easy.
I like the show...but it does have some big eye roll moments.

I get the scene where the calf just got up and ran off because who wants to re-shoot that, especially when at least 2/3 of the audience probably doesn't even catch it. But the rattlesnake thing was just absurd on multiple levels.

Dropping off at the train station has a whole new meaning now
Yep, Bingham, Uncle Lucius, and Whiskey Myers all in the same episode. Can't complain about the music on the show!Bunk Moreland said:
Just now able to watch last night's episode and the opening scene sounded like a Ryan Bingham song (no vocals played).
Looked it up and sure enough, he wrote music for the show and makes appearances as an actor starting in ep 5
He's not part of the Costner family, he's part of the branded ranch-hand family. His father is a friend of Costner's and asked Costner to give Jimmy one last chance at saving him from drugs and prison. It's the brand that makes him family.duck79 said:
Did I miss how Jimmy was connected to the family?

How about the kid asking Costner about the fresh sutures supposively from abdominal cancer surgery and just 2 hours before he was on a bucking horse.

I thought the scene in the truck with Jamie and Beth was off. Felt like they wrote the last line first, couldn't figure out how to build to a place where it felt organic, but liked it too much to let it go. Otherwise, good episode.
