You could tell that Shane knew this was like the 6th predator movie, so he took the comedy route. Very silly, obvious the movie didn't take itself seriously. I almost wish this movie was made in the 80s. It would be campy and charming otherwise.

That said, was it good? hell no.

Did I have fun? yes.

Yeah, this movie scored two impressive milestones of being the absolute worst entry in two different series.

I'm seeing The Predator later today. I expect to at least enjoy it, but for me the Predator movies have been a bit helter-skelter in that I loved Predator, didn't care that much for Predator 2, thought Predators was decent, and loved Alien v Predator.

Predator 2 is one of those movies that is just so bad......but I love.

It has a badly miscast Danny Glover, all the characters attempting to talk/act macho, a laughable "future" Los Angeles, and a crazy Gary Busey. It even looks like they used the exact same sets and background actors from "Robocop 2."

But every scene with the Predator is totally bad-ass and I liked the expansion of the creature's "mythology."

And Predators is highly underrated. Just a very solid film.

Aliens vs Predator wasn't bad. That's all I can say about it. Some good bits but just mediocre overall.

Saw The Predator this morning.

Lots of gory violence, lots of great Predator action, some one-liners that worked, some that didn't. But I found myself rolling my eyes at many outlandish things in this movie. Particularly toward the end when the gal was left behind when the three guys hopped on the outer hull of the Predator's ship, which subsequently crashed miles away and then, in screen time minutes later, the gal shows up in the nick of time having traversed miles in mere minutes - she must masquerade as Elastigirl or something.

I had a good time for the most part, but this was not a particularly good movie.

To your point about about not being a particularly good movie, well no duh. It's a many times sequel about killer aliens, at this point its just supposed to be fun.

This was easily the worst film in the series. I liked the 2010 film, and I love the first, but this was ab****e garbage. It feels more like it was directed by Michael Bay with the **** humor that is almost always out of place. I was most annoyed by how they wasted Sterling K Brown on an atrocious role.

Honestly just a purely garbage movie.

Yeah, I love Shane Black. The Predator just didn't feel like a Shane Black movie. It felt like there was no care out into this movie. Just things happen. It wasn't as bad as Fantastic Four (2015) but it had similar pacing and editing issues. There were times where characters would return and I was taken out of the movie trying to figure out where they were this entire time. Very sloppily made. Which bummed me out because I was really looking forward to this one.

I like Trevante Rhodes though. I think he is going to be the next big action star.

I don't think Shane Black sucks and he's done some really good stuff... but I do think he's overrated

So this had a definite throwback vibe to it, it really feels like an 80s action pic in places. It's a bit juvenile in spots, but there's some genuinely funny stuff in there as well and as usual Black writes throwaway sidekicks into surprisingly compelling characters.

Yes, it's kinda dumb and over the top, but that's what these films have always been and I enjoyed it for what it was. It's a fun, violent ride and that's what it's supposed to be.

Started off so good. Lost its way in the middle, sorta regrouped at the end.

Overall I had fun with it.

The first one was 'frat boy bs ok'. The rest pure garbage. The last boy scout and long kiss were bad movies. Iron man was so bad i never saw 3. I admit i havent seen the nice guys.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys are good enough on their own.

A dog with dreds. A McGuffin. And Aspergers. When you have all three, "go make a movie!"

Cutting through the the Baysplosions. we are to believe mankind is dying, err killing itself, and a predator is benevolent enough to save humanity. Ok. How? A suit that kills predators.

Yea. That's right. A predator sees "global warming" will end humanity then thinks "gee, I'm going to risk my life to give them a suit so one human can kill my kind." Dafuq?!?! That's not a motive. That's not even rational.

I will say it was funny seeing a Busey in the franchise again. But ffs this was a shttshow.

Man, that movie was so bad I walked out. Guys, if you have a captured alien, put some ginormous chains on him. That's basic alien 101 right there.

Awful plot. Awful tropes and cliches. I can't believe they cast a less imposing person than Adrian Brody, with no offense to DH.


However, fun and campy.

To me this was just laughably bad. It had some great action and had it's moments, but it felt like the story was gutted in the editing room. I would like to think that Shane Black made a good film based on the praise he gets around here, but then in post they were told they had to cut 15-20min and had to keep in all the action and funny scenes, so they just hacked out all the dialog and scenes that connected other scenes together.


I'm the kind of guy that likes most movies I see and has spent time trying to defend films that are hated around here (Last Jedi, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, etc) but this was just so horribly paced and the story just jumped around and people showed up after being missing for long periods and no explanation for things, etc.

Easily the worst of all the Predator and AvP films.

I really liked Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but I've found Shane Black to be pretty spare outside of that. Not surprised to see that this whacky Predator comedy is a bust.

I wiki'ed the plot of this movie. Holy hell, how did anyone approve this? It sounds terrible.

I didn't care much for Iron Man 3, but The Nice Guys is pretty fun. But Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is definitely his best work, a great film.

Definitely though this was easily the worst including the alien films. This film was really really awful.

Last jedi was one of the worst movies ever made, amd jurassic since the first one are close....so if you think this sucks it must be breathtakingly bad.
