Joe's voice over at one point mentioned that he was creating a "trial" or whatever on Benji's Instagram that would basically lead to Benji doing drugs into oblivion and ultimately going off the grid / to a remote part of the world. That felt suffice to me, but yeah, I can see how it it could have used a bit more closure or whatever.

Beck is dead. Not sure how that could be considered open-ended. Candice was legitimately ambiguous, since they only showed him killing the record company guy. But Beck's therapist was arrested for her murder, and Joe edited her manuscripts to get the book published.

also he put her body at Jon Stamos' house. thats how they confirmed he was a murderer.

Chances are she's dead, and it would admittedly be kind of dumb if she wasn't.

I'm just saying...

- They purposefully cut RIGHT before Joe "killed" her, and that had to be by design. We never SAW him kill her.

- We also didn't SEE *her* body. We saw what looked to be *a* body wrapped in a blanket, and then we saw *something* being dug up by the authorities, which, for all we know, could have been the charred remains of another body, with a couple of Beck's teeth or something (admittedly, I'm no forensics expert - I don't know what can/can't be identified via DNA and all that).

- As for the therapist being arrested for murder, there were dozens of different ways to frame him, and BECK was the one who actually first suggested doing so (even though it was a ploy to get Joe to open the door at the time).

- And finally, Joe then SAID he edited her manuscripts to get the book published, yet we obviously we can't trust his voice overs.

In other words, the filmmakers CLEARLY went out of their way NOT to show Beck being killed and to NOT show her deceased body. Again, it would be pretty ridiculous if she were still alive, but we all know that in shows like this, when you don't actually see the death or the body, anything is possible.

Finished watching the entire series yesterday. Captivating. Penn played the guy so well, you'd actually like him at times. Even rooted for him to kill the PO, how weird is that.

My argument for Beck being dead:

We see them uncover a body in front of Stamos house and then Stamos arrested in the back of a cop car. That would make you assume the forensics identify Beck as the body.

My argument for Beck being alive:

And I may have missed something so let me know. We see Joe put the parole officer's body in his car, but I don't think I ever saw him take him out. We saw one body come out of his car during the burial shot at Stamos' house. Could that be the PO's body with some of Beck's teeth like TCTTS said?

If it is Beck's body, what did he do with the PO's body?

I totally forgot about the PO's body. Great call. I'm telling you guys, if there was EVER a show to bring someone back like that, it's this one. #BeckIsAlive

I liked the kid but was disappointed that he didn't help her at the end. I understand why he didn't, he feel a loyalty to Joe because how he helped him, but I still was disappointed.

I kept wondering what it'd be like growing up and having that memory. It's not like he didn't know what was going on, but it's still something that would change as you got older.

On the Beck stuff: I didn't even give it a thought that she was still alive, but that may actually work since many of us didn't think that. I could see her agreeing to play dead for several reasons. First, as a condition of being set free by Joe. Second, as a way to have a huge story published.

In addition to the points that have been raised about Candace being alive, there was one key difference between her social media feed and those that Joe created for others: there were actually pictures of her being posted. He could have saved them from a prior trip or even done some editing, but he never really showed that level of sophistication.

Dexter made mistakes at times, but Joe isn't even in the same league as Dexter. Did the guy ever put on a glove? He was leaving DNA everywhere (even when excluding the piss jar).

Sounds like Joe / season two is moving from New York to LA as well. A lot of details about the character at the link...

Y'all rooted for Joe?? I was just enjoying his on verge of panic attack at every moment. I expected it to end with him dead or captured...not a multi season show

Meh...big step down from Beck

I don't mean to claim he has any dignity. Dude is a straight psycho. Pushing the guy off the roof was not dignified. What I mean is the show did a good job of showing him having complete commitment to Beck and his rationale for his actions versus Beck having little to no commitment and showing little rationale for her actions.

I may not be wording any of that worth a dang. Just trying to say you somehow find yourself understanding, maybe even pulling for, Joe.

I made it through the whole first season, so I must not have hated it. But man, beyond the fact that it could have been wrapped up in about three episodes, the number of plot holes could fill a stadium.
And by the way, imdb has the number of episodes per actor, if you look at that you will have a good idea of where the series goes in season 2, but I likely won't tune in...one was enough I think.

I tried to watch this on deployment on my days off when I had literally nothing better to do. Didnt give enough ****s to finish the first season. Not a single character to root for, they were all terrible.

Just started with season one - bumping so I can read all the reviews from great entertainment to such garbage trash.

I'll admit I'm watching season 2, almost finished actually. Some described this as a guilty pleasure show, and that's exactly how I feel about it. Well maybe that's just how I justify spending so much time watching it.

I was kind of skeptical of the casting of Love as this season's stalking interest, but she is way more likeable than Beck, to me at least. The casting all around seems to be spot on, especially Ellie and Delilah.

This season was nuts. Watched all 10 episodes in 3 days which with 2 kids is hard to do. Will give it a few more days before talking spoilers.

On episode 5 and it's better than season 1.

The hippy camp thing was super dumb and the same plot could have been accomplished at a less annoying location.

I had the same thought. You would think that he would be fascinated by it since she's basically the female version of himself. Also, agree about the neighbor...I can see how they could extend this to 3 seasons, but anything past that is just ridiculous IMO.

Weirdest guilty pleasure show I have right now

My wife loves this show and avout 4 episodes in to S1, she decided we should watch it together. We started the season over and I dont think it is a good show, but i want to know what happens. Really weird feeling about this show.

It is terrible how they try to make us root for the serial murderer and lunatic. It isn't great acting. The storyline isn't great, but i want to watch the next episode. I can't explain it. Wife and I are on episode 8, season 2.
