I read some article the other day about how they have handlers who keep tabs on their fights, and they have to make sure they land the same amount of punches, no one can get their ass kicked too bad, etc... it was kind of eye rolling
It made me appreciate someone like Cruise even more. I saw a take in response that essentially said that one of the reasons we love the Mission: Impossible movies so much is precisely because Cruise allows himself to be put through the wringer. He gets knocked down time and again until he succeeds in the very end. He understands what it truly means entertain. It's not a bunch of dudes trying to impress the audience with how tough they are. Tough is being able to take punches and keep on fighting, etc...
I saw it yesterday and something didn't click for me. I was ready for cheesy as I love F&F but this felt almost too much to me. Maybe it's The Rock fatigue, not sure, but I much prefer the regular F&F movies.
