Random question, but I remember some buzz about Tom Holland playing Fred Astaire in a biopic? Is that still happening? I feel like I remember hearing something 3-4 years ago but nothing since.

Thanks! Unfortunately it doesn't sound like they're close to a script. He says in it "They're still looking for a story in the script they're writing." That doesn't seem good haha

Maybe they're just waiting for Holland to grow out of his baby face.

This weekend begins what is essentially a five-week run of my four most anticipated movies of the summer...

7/19 - Twisters

7/26 - Deadpool & Wolverine

8/02 - Trap

8/16 - Alien: Romulus

As of yesterday, tickets are now available for all four (Trap was the last to go on sale), and I've finally secured all of mine for each.

Granted, it's a down summer overall, and the above is certainly no Barbenheimer, but it's still a solid, fun little stretch that I've been increasingly looking forward to, based on the all trailers, buzz, early reactions, etc.

Then, come the weekend of Alien: Romulus, suddenly we'll be only two weeks away from football season and all will be right in the world once more.

Shut up. Twisted Wolverine has been my Barbenheimer for months. So much they we're probably going to watch D & W in French w/ subtitles while in Belgium if I can't find it in English

I'm sure they could bring back Tone Loc on the cheap.

Yeah, this could be good. I also seriously doubt it's a straight remake. It's more than likely either a legacy sequel or simply a new firefighter movie under the Backdraft name. Either way, it's been forever since we've had something like this, so why not?

It could also be bad. The original doesn't really need to be redone/reworked. For me, also cheapens Sutherland's greatness a bit.

The challenge is that it's tough to have a villain in a movie about firefighting.

They should cast Paul Walter Hauser to play Donald Sutherland's grandson or something.

That Sutherland performance was haunting

Uhh, holy ****, I didn't realize there already was a sequel! Made in 2019. And apparently even starring Billy Baldwin.

No need for a remake of Backdraft. The original is a classic

An aside, but he's my favorite author ever. He lived one of the most interesting lives I can really think of. Sport fisherman, trophy hunter, war correspondent, WW1 ambulance driver, lived in Paris during the 1920s, Key West and Cuba later on, and more.

Shame he was so troubled.

I can see it with the right hair (or lack thereof).
