Blue Moves by Elton John. He had quite a run during the 70s and then that came out.

After the first three albums it was a big disappointment. Those first three still hold up.

Out of curiosity, I did some research on the album since its release was before my time. I knew it was Newsteds first album with the band, but they had some serious drama during the recording...much of which explains the flat, bassless sound.
That said, Harvester of Sorrow and One are still among some of my favorites.
Wow. Really? That album was PERFECT for the climate in which it was made/released. However, I can think of 3 or 4 other Springsteen albums that fit this bill (all within the past 10 years).TPS_Report said:
Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising"
It certainly wasn't 'classic' Aerosmith, but 'awful'? I mean it won multiple Grammy's, was voted album of the year, is their best selling album, and gave us some pretty GD iconic music videos.superunknown said:
Aerosmith "Get a Grip" was awful.
Well it's a bit too polished and "MTV Ready" for my taste but there are some good songs on that album.Bruce Almighty said:

I think St. Anger and VH3 are perfect examples of what this thread was looking for. So much so that I have struggled to come up with something new that's on the same level.
I guess I didn't have high expectations for any of those artists except for GNR and Lies wasn't a disappointment to me.62strat said:Lots of disappointing sophomore albums after huge debuts;Junkhead said:

I think Gold Experience is Prince's third best album behind Purple Rain and Sign o' the Times.HtownAg92 said:
