When we used to watch "reality" (TV is out of our lives now, except for DVDs) -
I liked the A&E obsession and hoarder and intervention shows. I always hoped for redemption and resolution at the end.
Musically, I don't hate the Nickelback greatest hits. Sometimes you are in a "gentleman's club" mood!
NOT SHAME, just correct opinions:
- Brian Johnson saved AC / DC. I prefer Bon Scott too, but anyone who says anything negative about him is not a true fan. Axl? Eh. Mixed feelings. Chinese Democracy is actually good, but I don't like the person.
- I want to be a KISS fan, but Gene and Paul make it so difficult.
- Cheap Trick is the most underrated American band - ever. Robin Zander is a top 5 rock singer of all time.
- Wildflowers is the best Tom Petty album. A double-disc re-release with the previously unreleased tracks should automatically be considered the best album of the year when it is finally released. Check out Somewhere Under Heaven.
- The Rolling Stones most underrated record is It's Only Rock 'n Roll, and partly because it has their very best cover art.
- Bob Dylan's 1999 second mix release of Street-Legal is wonderful. It is top shelf, although one can be a true fan and still dislike it. I have a lot of Dylan opinions (in sum, he should have let me a). do his cover art b). determine song selection). Also, his best voice is Blood on the Tracks era, as is confirmed by More Blood, More Tracks. He really needed the strong guiding hand of an editor, even from the very early releases.

Feel free to ask me anything about Dylan. I've thought a lot about what he should have released, and in what original manner.

I'll be paying close attention to the new Black Keys, and the new releases from Third Man Records, in the context of career trajectory. Springsteen is set there, and the new single is great, so the stakes are a bit lower for him. I also believe Arcade Fire will be remembered fondly, although I found Everything Now mediocre. U2's last two releases, companion pieces, are also at this point underrated. It's nice too them touring with Noel Gallagher (I also have a lot of Oasis opinions, mostly positive).

I finally completed the full Lucinda Williams catalogue. Wow is she great. Massively underrated songwriter, which was kindly recognized by Petty and Dylan, among others, touring with her and covering her songs.
