1976(ish) - I have a younger sister, and perhaps that's why the only ones i remember seeing in the theater are Freaky Friday and The Shaggy D.A. I'm going to cheat and go with Star Wars which I saw the following year, and which really amped up the already-emerging Sci-Fi geek in me. (I remember being around 7 or 8 and catching a Star Trek episode on TV by accident one day, and not knowing the name of the show, I kept bugging my Dad that I wanted to watch the show "with the guys with the A's on their chest.")

1984 - Terminator!

1988 - Was married by this time, and I honestly can't remember us going to see movies together. However, I'm kind of sure I saw Dangerous Liaisons in the theater. Malkovich and Close played absolutely despicable (but very interesting) characters, PLUS Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman.

Did you see King Kong or Logan's Run, or I think All the President's Men, which came out in 1976?

You enjoyed The Deer Hunter at 10? I think most kids would check out 3 min into that wedding.

So, I have a late ish birthday, which worked nice in this challenge.

10. Jurassic Park. I loved dinosaurs as a kid. I saw it three times just to watch the dinosaurs on the screen. I am not sure 10 year old me care about the plot. Favorite part was the T-Rex "saving" the day at the end.

18. Snatch. Everything about seemed amazing.

22. Revenge of Sith. Still don't know if I actually like the movie, but I was pretty amped about seeing the "last Star Wars movie ever".

True about Star Wars, but that year also produced a couple of other time-tested classics in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Smoky and the Bandit.

The only other movie I can think to possibly add to 85 is Pale Rider.

Me too.

Less Than Zero - for small town kids, the portrayal Beverly Hills ultra-rich lifestyle was a trip. Although he was a junkie and F up, we all copied the style and mannerisms of Julian, not Clay, because he was so cool. (Right up until that whole prostitution for drugs thing).
