The 2 that jump out at me:

Sopranos ending: literally said "Fu**ing Suddenlink!!" Until I realized that was the ending.

Zoe pushed in front of train in House of Cards

Didn't scream out loud or anything, but the couple of times I was shocked by an ending on a show was the season 4 finale of Dexter and when the Governor decapitated Hershel on Walking Dead. Coincidentally those 2 shows started their deep declines after that.

When Bobby Munson was killed on SoA

Not sure if this counts but when Upham freezes in the stairs while the Kraut and Mellish are fighting to the death in the room above and THEN when he lets the Kraut go after killing Mellish...........I don't know that I've ever been more 'upset'/pissed off in a movie theater in my life.

Breaking Bad - Crawl Space scene. Walter's maniacal laughter/emotion, Skyler's facial expressions, the phone call from Marie concerned about a hit on Hank. Everything about that scene was so fantastically well acted (just like so many other scenes in Breaking Bad). I was watching it with headphones on and didn't realize that I kept saying "No, No, No, No" throughout that entire scene until my wife tapped me on the shoulder to wake me out of it.

There were a few episodes of Hannibal that probably had me at least wondering loudly how it was being broadcast on Network Television. Maybe it seems tame now.

I didn't scream, but I can't remember my jaw physically dropping and staying dropped longer than the last 5 minutes of "The Jinx" on HBO. I still get chills thinking about it.

Sports are too easy. I can probably name 20 sports moments that trump any shocking moment in a tv show.

Sophomore year in high school. Valentine's Day dance at a shmancy hotel in the Arboretum in Austin. The bar at the hotel had the fight on. I happened to notice it on my way to take a leak and stopped down to watch it. It's one of those sports moments of my life that I still remember vividly and will always remember when/where I was.

Highway scene in the backseat on the Hill House show. Wife and I nearly hit the damn ceiling and I **** myself a little.

I like to pick a show to watch when I do my cardio. I picked Hill House earlier this year. This scene occurred and was so unexpected. I yelled....at the top of my lungs....in a completely full gym. And it was a quick scream. It was a looooooonnnggggg scream. Needless to say everyone stopped what they were doing and broke there necks to turn my direction. I tried to play it off as a cough.

1) jack baurs wife's heartbeat stops in first season of 24. I was really mad.

2) in devils advocate, when the wife finds the baby in her house, and it is playing with her uterus, and she will never have kids. This one pissed me off for days.

Cheating over to videogames:

Aeris death in ff7 was a huge shocker. She was a playable character that I was leveling up, and then, suddenly, dead. Killed by main bad guy. Never coming back. Was shocked, then awed, by that.

There was an N64 game called Eternal Darkness based on HP Lovecraft lore. In it, if your character saw too much scary stuff, he/she would walk into a room and something wierd would happen, like your arms would fall off. After that, a voice over would say "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING" and everything would return to normal.

So, I am getting close to finishing the game, haven't saved my game in a couple of hours, but time for dinner so hit save.

Blue screen of death, Ala Microsoft windows. Total game crash. Buffer overflow. Progress lost. Super pissed.

Nope. Voice over of this can't be happening, then back to the save screen. Total prank by the developers.

Never been more surprised / tricked by a writer. Was infuriating, then hilarious, and now awe inspiring.
