I think you are fine. Book 4 is bookended with two chapters from Bobbie's POV, just to give some greater universe perspective on what is going on outside of Ilus. I'm betting the show is just more detail filler on what the two characters are doing in between, although the show hinted at Marcos' And Naomi's past much earlier than the books ever did, so perhaps they start building framework on him and his group with those two.

Also I like the actor they got for Murtry, he was excellent in Turn and he's doing a good job here. He's probably my favorite antagonist so far for the books and show.

Amos is killing it. He's just a lovable psychopath. Him mispronouncing Morty's name over and over is hilarious.

And you can definitely tell the Amazon money has helped. Shooting, casting, and even honestly the writing is just better this season so far. I normally kind of roll my eyes at the episodic drama they throw into the storylines, but the changes to the story this season have felt much more serialized and not as contrived. Not to mention the Bobby and Belter storylines are really interesting. Avasarala I could do without so far, although it does give a good perspective on what's going on back home.

Potential book/season 5 discussion:

the casting for Marcos is perfect. I really can't imagine a better Holden, Amos, or Marcos, really excited for when these guys have to square off.

Yeah I got through three last night and so far it's great. There's definitely an upgrade in visuals.

I think having them on the planet helps a lot. Not as much CGI, so you can spend the money on other things.

Oh yeah I agree with you on that, I just meant that when you go from having just about every scene using some kind of CGI because it's set in space, to having half the season set on a planet where it's not needed as much, I have to think it allows you to do a lot more.
Then factor in the Amazon money.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. But his "I am that guy look" to Murtry was awesome. Amos as a character was great this season. I feel that overall the directing was better this season with characters having better moments and the evolved too.

Through 7 and I'm loving how they're hitting all the highpoints on Ilus. So many things touched on in episode 1 also.

The only thing I can complain about is the new Arjun. The acting pulls me out of the scene every time and even before the classroom scene I kept thinking of him as a professor lecturing

Despite all of the cataclysmic alien tech and OPA terrorists, blind Amos is the most terrifying thing in this season, though the death slugs are a very close second.

Haha so at one point Amos hangs up his hand terminal and you can see his contact list.

Yes, the other actor apparently had a conflict. I think the new guy did fine with the role and was a little more assertive in this portrayal than the previous actor. But I think the direction given to the actors this season was better imo overall.

The original actor was kind of famous, right? Could've swore he looked super familiar from a lot of movies and the like. Makes sense that since his role expanded he couldn't come do it / show couldn't afford him.

Brian George has been cast in a lot of roles for Indian males through the years. That's probably why you recognize him.

Great season. Can't wait for season 5.

One very minor concern.

This season pulled Bobbie into more of a gray area, in the books she's basically a Paragon soldier. So I doubt she would help thieves whether or not it was harmless equipment. I could see how on screen though that could be seen as a shallow character, but I always thought her complexity came from where her circumstances differed from her loyalties.
