Soundgarden will make it for sure.

Other than that I am pulling for NIN and Depeche Mode.
Soundgarden has been eligible for several years now, and this is their first year of even being nominated. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Chris Cornell was a really good guy and has a lot of friends across the rock and roll Spectrum. It also doesn't hurt that they were a good band with a lot of good songs. And of course the obvious recent death syndrome will play in its favor.
He was dead last year when the nominations came out.

Are you responding to me? I was just pointing out a flaw in your reasoning. Sorry to have made you all butt hurt and cranky with facts.

Great band, great guy, no doubt. I'd like to see Priest go in before Soundgarden though. Cornell would probably back me up on that if he were here. I tend to think the older bands that the younger bands liked and looked up to should go in first. I heard that Morello and Grohl are pushing JP in the Hall nomination meetings.

We should all be able to get along on this thread, despite the inevitable disagreements. Let's set aside anything off-topic. We are also all Aggies here.

I didn't mean to interject, but let's stick to the content of the thread.

So Whitney Houston and Biggie are rock and roll, but Iron Maiden isn't?

They need to rename this HOF.

Well, that may be true. But if you go with say, the "Music HOF", then where's Willie? Sinatra? It could go on and on.

They ain't changing it anytime soon, though in about 10 years when they've exhausted every "rock" act they can reasonably induct ("Hmm, we still haven't inducted the Goo Goo Dolls"), then we'll see.

"Pop Music Hall of Fame" would work.
