As others said, I don't think all the pieces connected correctly. Parks didn't know that was Kim's daughter, him wanting to get his son got he hospital was understandable since they'd told us earlier he had fifteen minutes or he'd die.

Also, Kims are making all this money, but we never see how their situation improves or changes. Plus, if they're willing to work that hard and they're that good at what they do, why'd they not just be legit in the first place?
I mean if Joker was so smart then why didn't he simply give himself therapy and find a way to get an actual girlfriend?

The director pointed out that "working" as Kim Jr was planning would only take about 561 years for him to be able to purchase that house. It was an obvious fantasy to most viewers but clearly not to all viewers.

I had some issues with the movie (didn't love the final act), and there were a couple of movies I would've preferred to see get BP.

But that said, the complaints about why the Kims' lot didn't significantly improve after working with the Parks for a few weeks (or months if I'm generous) seem pretty asinine.

It reminds me of some dumb reality star (I forget who), who once said "Why don't homeless people just buy a house?"

Oh, well it sure seems like you're trolling. You dont like the movie, that's fine, it certainly isn't perfect. But you didnt just drop in to give your review and/or ask why some plot point didnt make sense, you came back to try and "gotcha" people with plot holes that dont exist.

And for the record, "why didnt they just work harder" sounds a lot more like a troll than someone who actually watched the movie.

I actually took it in a slightly different way, I totally got the part that the old "work hard and you'll make it" adage doesn't always cut it, BUT that sometimes you have to skew the deck in your favor by doing shady stuff in order to get ahead in the modern world.

You'll note that although they did "hack" their way into having their entire family employed at the household, they did seem to do a good job, until everything came apart spectacularly at the end.

Furthermore, they actually could have kept the good thing going. They decided to have that gigantic family party at the house. There was no reason for that. The old housekeeper would have just come over and the new housekeeper could have kept it under wraps.

The Kims started getting too big for their britches. I hate to blame the lower-class folks, but they could have kept this good thing going a lot longer but they made bad choices.

agreed, the thing is poor people often stay poor because they make poor decisions.


as to Joker, I absolutely loved Joker. thought it was very well done. but, i have no problem with Parasite beating it out.

Good movie but best picture?

Some said the kids were geniuses, however, they said in the movie that the kid failed the college entrance exams several times.

Dad was a failure in all prior jobs and business ventures.

Grift was the easiest way out, at the beginning I had a suspicion that they did something to the pizza guy to open up that job which the kid ended up not needing.

I was also wondering when the original tutor was supposed to come back.

Likely suicide. I blame the Korean barbaric laws on drugs. I don't support free use of illegal drugs but they are so draconian it's disgusting. He had 19 hour straight interrogations and faced up to 14 years in prison, even if he used the drugs while in another country. There's a much better way for treatment and handling of drug use.
