Pretty sure George Harrison didn't play anywhere a couple of years ago.

The Babys and Bad English, both with John Waite. Nice.

Here's an ear worm for you. Name the song with this lyric:

"One glimpse'll show you now baby, what the music can do"

Come on, "Change" was an 80's anthem by John Waite. You can't watch Vision Quest and not get pumped.

At least Southlake's made the wheels turn. C'mon man, your question is like asking who sang "Thriller".

You may be being sarcastic, but just in case - Not Triumph, not Magic Power. Good relatively obscure band and song, however. Will note for future rock trivia thread.

I still cannot believe that someone in Billy Squier's managment/camp allowed this video to ever see the light of day.

That would be a good trivia question. Which rock video ruined Billy Squier's career?

Literally. People say stuff like that all the time and usually it's hyperbole. Not in this case. That video NUKED him.

I can't think of a band where a video effected an artist in such a negative way as that Squire video.

You want trivia....try to think of a band that was "killed off" by video. Lots made their careers with MTV, those are easy to come up with...dime a dozen. Who went the other direction? It would have to be a band/artist that headed into the 80's with a great career and sales. Then, they were either "too ugly" for video or made bad videos like Squier, and career crashed. Some bands, like Steely Dan, Pink Floyd (for a while) and Led Zep simply dissolved right before MTV broke. These bands very likely would have made some compelling videos, sorry we missed out.

Don't know if I could "pinpoint" MTV as the main killer (bad music will also do that), but these bands come to mind...
- Supertramp
- Doobie Brothers
- Bee Gees (probably death of disco here, but damn...they were huge. You'd think just putting Barry out front you'd stay somewhat prominent)

MTV killed Christopher Cross. He was literally told he was too ugly for television.

That's the gold standard answer for that question. Sad too because he has legit chops.
