I'm one of those who usually finishes a series I've grown to hate because of the "I'm already so far in" excuse.

Having said that, I bailed on 'The Walking Dead' a season or two after the big 'whose head did Neegan bash' cliffhanger.
Same with 'Fear The Walking Dead'. Can't even recall what was going on when I finally pulled the plug. Maybe living in a bullfighting arena or a weird cult ranch or something.

What got me to thinking about this is that I'm on the final season of 'Man In The High Castle' and I can't wait to be done. Fell outta love with this late season 2/early season 3. Torture at this point.

So. What've you bailed on after going at least 2 seasons?

I bailed on Game Of Thrones after a few seasons.

I just got so tired of hearing 'Winter is coming' and everyone building an army and nothing ever happening.

Seeing how it all planned out I'm glad I did.

Dexter. It went downhill quickly.

Going to get bbq'd for this but: Breaking Bad.

Made it to the last season, watched 2 episodes and bailed.

The show was just too repetitive for me.

Please don't kill me

I bailed before that. I never really cared about what happened to any character.

Same. I gave up after Mike went to jail. I knew there was going to be some bull**** way to get him out, I just didn't care to find out.

Hang in there on Man in the High Castle. The second to last episode is incredible. The finale sucks, though.

Lost - endless nothing burgers

Peaky Blinders - latest season is just pretty much the same old same old and the writing is regressing

I bailed out on that show somewhere around the third season, I think. For the same reason as you.

Billions.
It seemed a bit plodding and we just lost interest.

Nip/Tuck
Watched several years but it started jumping the shark. It usually does when the location changes.

I made it through a season of mad men and bailed. Well written and produced, just wasn't my thing.

I got through like 7 season of BBT before I threw in the towel. Just wasn't funny anymore (and yes, maybe it never was), either because they ran out of jokes or the jokes were repetitive. No desire to watch the early repeats either.

Bailed on the office too after a few seasons because Michael was unwatchable for me. No matter how idiotic he acted there was almost never any consequence. Just got old.

Shameless after about 2 seasons. Just didn't do it for me.

Mad Men after Season 6 or so.

Does Ballers count? I stuck around on that crappy show for an embarrassingly length of time.

Made it all the way thru Lost and quit with two episode left. Don't care to know what happened.

Man in the High Castle sucked. Quit now and you'll be fine.

Fear the Walking Dead. Stopped watching after the Johnny Depp wannabe guy died.

The Office. Stopped after season five or so. Can't remember.

I bailed on Vikings a season or 2 after Ragnar Lothbrok (sp?) was killed off and I lost interest in his sons being the central part of the show. And because Rolo also left.

Bailed the first time after season 4. Eventually came crawling back, and gave up for good a couple episodes after Neegan's head bashing.

Quit after 3 seasons of Mad Men. It just never really hooked me, but i somehow managed to make myself watch 3 seasons before giving up.

I think season 8 of Shameless was the last season i watched. That show should have ended around season 6 or 7...

I've had zero desire to watch the latest season of Peaky Blinders.

I watched all of Entourage and never watched the series finale... Really wish i had done the same for Dexter...

We also stopped Fear The Walking Dead. It came back this season and we were all ... meh.

All of these, we made it a few seasons into binging, but stopped:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Seinfeld (though I've probably seen them all over the years - wife couldn't stand George any more)
Golden Girls - we might pick it back up, might not

We always finish because we start only high-quality programs. It is important to research before beginning.

Walking Dead, Mad Men, Dexter... all kind of started to feel lost to me.

More recently, Handmaid's Tale. Just seemed to go off the tracks.

A few I can recall:

The Walking Dead - stopped around season 4 I think
Vikings - stopped after the main character was killed off
Doctor Who - used to catch it periodically when I was kid during Baker & Davison years. Started watching again during the reboot through Eccleston, Tenant, and most of Smith.
Heroes - Sometime during season 2
Friday Night Lights - I don't remember, maybe made it through 2 seasons
American Horror Story - ok, it's anthology so probably doesn't count, but I haven't seen it since Roanoke
The X-Files - made it through most of the 1st season w/out Mulder. Never learned how it ended. I did see the 1st film though.

TWD, after Neagan was introduced I was out. My wife and I loved that show, but that storyline was too much for us and we both quit. Never given up on a show I've watched for as long as that one.

This. Was just about to write this, but I made it a bit further.
After they finally throw down with Negan's troops and win, slit Negan's throat, and then decide to save him, that's when I was done as a faithful Sunday watcher for many years.

Producers and writers just don't understand the art of setting the trajectory of a show and ending with a set and planned ending (see Breaking Bad as an example).

All of the CW Arrow-verse shows. I got about 6 seasons into arrow, 3 seasons into Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and one season into Supergirl.

I really liked it at first. Even when they added Flash I though Arrow and Flash were really good complimentary shows just for mindless comic book entertainment that would occasionally have really entertaining story arcs. Then they just kept adding more shows and it REALLY watered down the overall product. I had to just cut bait. I just could do it anymore.

More shows that I've quit on than shows I've seen through to the end. Most shows bleed the rock. The only show that I've stuck it out with that did this was West Wing, but the first 4 seasons were good enough to justify the drop off of the last few.

Of course I've seen every episode of How I Met Your Mother and Friends at least 4 times each because of an ex, so I've made a pretty good run through some bad TV.

House of cards. Still pissed how they ruined the show in such spectacular fashion. I watched through season 5 or 6, but honestly, the amworks season was the nail for me.

Both became boring.

Edit: Orange is the New Black and Glee. This thread helped me remember those.

Homeland - after the 2016 election when they banked on Hillary winning and moved the show to the USA it became unwatchable.
