TWD, after Neagan was introduced I was out. My wife and I loved that show, but that storyline was too much for us and we both quit. Never given up on a show I've watched for as long as that one.
This. Was just about to write this, but I made it a bit further.
After they finally throw down with Negan's troops and win, slit Negan's throat, and then decide to save him, that's when I was done as a faithful Sunday watcher for many years.
Producers and writers just don't understand the art of setting the trajectory of a show and ending with a set and planned ending (see Breaking Bad as an example).
I could've written this post nearly word for word. When Rick didn't kill him after EVERYTHING that had been said and done for a couple of years I was just done. Haven't watched it since that finale and frankly kind of get a chuckle when I saw previews for the new shows now because I think "How in the hell is that show still going?".
FTWD I think I made maybe one season of....I think I remember some Mexican hacienda burning down and that being the end of a season. Whenever it was I just didn't care anymore. I never thought I'd have said this but I was just kind of 'zombied out'. I love that genre of horror/sci fi but it was just overkill after 10 years of TWD.
I watched the first two seasons of Friends religiously. I don't think I've seen more than 5 minutes of any episode after season 2.
