Homeland - after the 2016 election when they banked on Hillary winning and moved the show to the USA it became unwatchable.
I thought the Alex Jones character season was one of the best in the last few seasons.

I think I just preferred it when they were fighting terrorists in other countries and Carrie wasn't so nuts.

Agree with the point on Carrie. They did seem to go zero to 100 with her and it did get a bit nerve wracking. I hope they dial it back for the first season. It does seem like it will be overseas.

All of the CW Arrow-verse shows. I got about 6 seasons into arrow, 3 seasons into Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and one season into Supergirl.

I really liked it at first. Even when they added Flash I though Arrow and Flash were really good complimentary shows just for mindless comic book entertainment that would occasionally have really entertaining story arcs. Then they just kept adding more shows and it REALLY watered down the overall product. I had to just cut bait. I just could do it anymore.

They should have just stuck with Arrow and Flash, and not added ****ty characters and actors to Arrow

Tons of shows mentioned here already.

Suits, Homeland, CW DC verse, and TWD.

Americans felt repetitive to me, and Homeland had more exciting moments imo, but Americans didn't have any terrible parts like Homeland though.

I have no interest in the newest season of Peaky Blinders since I felt last season was a great stoping point and I actually thought that was the last season ever for some reason.

Vikings because I can only watch 5 backstabbing plot lines before I get bored, and the Last Kingdom is better.

The flash. I liked it but why does the CW think a season has to be 20+ shows? The time commitment for that show is too great. 8-12 shows/season max.

God I've done this with so many shows that dropped quality abruptly.

- Heroes, halfway through season 3 I believe, that show just went off the rails so quickly
- Homeland, about halfway through season 3, similar to Heroes. Just so many eyerolling scenarios
- Shameless, 4 seasons, Emmy Rossums tits can only carry the show so far
- TWD, 6 seasons, I ended up hating every single character on the show
- Silicon Valley, 4 seasons, couldn't watch after Erlich Bachman left
- Arrow, 3 seasons, it turned comically bad
- Modern Family, 4 seasons, it got boring and repetitive after that and I stopped caring
- Dexter, 6 seasons, watched this 2 seasons too long. After the Trinity killer, the quality plummeted
- Arrested Development, 4 seasons, I should have never watched the Netflix version, it was such a downgrade
- ER, 4 seasons, it goes from a fairly realistic over-dramatized medical drama to completely off the rails, but those first few seasons are still some of the best television I've seen. "Love's Labour Lost" is the best and also most terrifying episode of any show I have ever seen.
- The West Wing, 4 and a half seasons, just wasn't the same after Rob Lowe and Aaron Sorkin left. Like ER, some of the best episodes ever on TV were in those first 4 seasons.

Did "Lost in Space" Season 1. Was optimistic for Season 2 but, literally had to force myself through S02E01.

"LOST" started when I was working "On The Lot" and after the premiere episode, somebody who knew one of the writers told me - spoiler alert, here's what happens. I watched that show through all kinds of crap for 6 seasons only to find out that what somebody told me as a rumour after the first episode, was exactly what happened.

TWD- bailed after Negan was introduced. That episode was too much for me plus I was getting tired of the repeat storyline. Defeat a villain and his group, move on only to come up on a different kind of villain and his group. What about finding a cure? What about moving to a sustainable island where it's much easier to control what happens?

Suits- Bailed after Mike got out of jail. Felt like it was getting too predictable.

Grey's anatomy- Yeah I know, I made the mistake of watching it. Only made it past 3 seasons and bowed out.

Arrow- I just lost interest after 3-4 seasons.

Good answers here. TWD, Arrested Development for sure. Mad Men after 3 seasons - just wasn't my thing.

West World. Could tell one episode into S2 that it was getting aimless and pretentious.

I told my wife that if they were going to pull some bull **** and pretend Glenn didn't die under the dumpster that I'm done with the show.

As soon as the scene showing he didn't die came on I turned the TV off and walked away.

Same with my wife and I. Absolutely loved it and just got burnt out. The first couple seasons were dynamite but the Paige story line and the general over pace of the show becoming glacial kinda ruined it.

I wish I had skipped season two of Goliath. But season three was much better.

As to the original question, Modern Family. Loved it at first, but liked each season less than the one before.

We bailed on Heroes after the first season.

My wife bailed on SOA at the start of season 5. She was pregnant and it was just too graphic for her.

We bailed on Grey's Anatomy sometime around Season 6, I think.

This show technically doesn't qualify since it's only had two seasons.

Also shouldn't qualify because it's one of the best shows on TV right now.

I worked with a girl that was quick to pull the plug on a show that dragged. She influenced me and now there is too much good stuff out to suffer through the downward spiral.

I ejected from: Walking Dead, House of Cards, Billions, and most recently, the Witcher. Witcher didn't have any characters I liked , was too sci-fy and seemed like there was a ton of backstory from the books or whatever that I was supposed to already know.

ER - probably the season after Green died. It was nose-diving hard at that point. I thought the show was fantastic up until the point Clooney left around S5

Greys - Was always just a guilty pleasure, but I checked out when Dempsey died. My wife still watches it...I can't believe it's still on the air. Apparently they plan to take these doctors from interns all the way to retirement.

TWD - Negan era like everyone else

Homeland - After S3 I think

Modern Family - Not sure, probably around S4. At the point where the kids were starting to get older and less funny.

House of Cards - Never watched the last season and wished I had quit earlier.

NYPD Blue - Think shortly after Smits died.

Law and Order - When Briscoe left. I could handle most of the cast changes, but he needed to be there. Plus the ripped from the headlines stuff was getting really old...didn't like recognizing every plot from an actual news story.

Just got bored and got the sense the writers were making it up as they went along (instead of knowing what the end game and island were)

FTWD. Gave up at 2nd season. Couldn't stand the characters. Nails on a chalkboard. Then with the newer cast with 'Morgan' and 'John Dorie' and way better writing and plots, the show is what TWD should have been. So now I'm back...

TWD. I'm still in but I'll say I liked the Neegan based episodes. I couldn't stand the Governor episodes. Either way the show is on life-support as it is so cartoon-ish. It really took on comic book status instead of a survival based show.

fun thread.

Mad Men - I could only watch so much Jon Hamm smoking

Americans - I don't remember exactly the season, but they were looking for that skinny Russian informant chick in a park. The FBI was tipped before the curly haired Russian, and he still found her before FBI in the park. LOL okay

Walking Dead - Lori took the only car and flipped it during a zombie apocalypse (lol). Then they spent an entire season looking for a child in the woods. Meh

Dexter - something about that sister actress drove me crazy

Life is too short for bad tv writing

Only 1 vote for this? I just started season 3 and am still all in. However, a friend said she bailed on it later in the series. I try to find shows with multiple seasons so I don't have to re-invest.

Ray Donovan got kind of repetitive, but I do think it picked up this last season. Although I wish this season would have been the final one. I guess I'm in for one more.

Can't believe my wife and I actually finished Sons of Anarchy. That got SOOO bad after the first couple of seasons, I wish we had never started it.

Gave up on Lost, but probably didn't even finish Season 1. Gave up on TWD after Neegan's throat got slashed but like that Monty Python character, " I'm not dead yet!" Quit FTWD pretty early in. Quit The Man in the High Castle after Season 1. Haven't watched Season 3 of Stranger Things. Gave up after E1 of S2 (I think, the one where the show shifts to Paris) of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

DID finish The Sopranos, although the last season or 1.5 seasons were kind of a drudgery. Finished Dexter, sadly. Finished Breaking Bad and can't wait to see the rest of Better Call Saul - pretty sure I'm in that until the end, and I'm sad that it'll HAVE to end...
