Thought White Lies was pretty good when I listened through it. Interested to hear others thoughts on it.

I have a hard time believing anybody who listens to podcasts and a male between the ages of like 30-50 truly doesn't care for Bill Simmons. I don't like every episode, but he consistently gets A team guests and brings out great interviews out of all of them. The Dave Grohl interview earlier this week? I mean come on... it really doesn't get better than that in a podcast. He puts out probably 2 very good podcasts vs 1 dud... in the podcast world, that's a very good rate.
like i said, i still listen and think he's a good interviewer, but i find that i enjoy him less than i used to.

Lots of rumors and red herrings. I would cut him some slack given that it was his first podcast but he did exactly the same thing with Atlanta Monster.CDub06 said:
I listened to all of Up & Vanished...it was rough. Payne Lindsay is a complete tool. He's terrible at story telling and structuring episodes of a podcast. He'd tease things that would never materialize. And he'd go out of his way to pat himself on the back. The 5 star reviews just fueled that AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT. I've stumbled upon a couple others by him and I just can't with that guy anymore.

Joe Rogan is great. Some of his guests have been inspirational to me. However Joe likes to present himself as being very knowledgeable. He definitely is more knowledgeable than most of the population, but imho his knowledge appears to be based on his reading of the first 50 pages of all these books he claims to read. Also, he talks about a lot of things that are clear urban legends or pop science beliefs like they are true.
Nevertheless, he's my favorite podcast.

I'm ready for Revolutions to end. I really liked the History of Rome and the earlier Revolutions but he's really started to get into the weeds with the French Revolution. I like context but he's bordering on Carlin with context.

i really enjoy The Rewatchables, but it does somewhat depend on who's on the episode.COOL LASER FALCON said:
I have had so many people recommend The Rewatchables to me and I just don't get it. I love tons of the movies they talk about, but they manage to take all the fun out of them.
