It's a 90 min episode! First hour has been good...

Bit of violence to start and shock the viewers...

I liked the first episode. Good pacing, enough action and intrigue. Definitely will watch the second episode tomorrow.

This looks utterly stupid. I could not have less interest in watching it. I'm genuinely curious, hence this post, what other folks see in the trailers that make them interested.

This is an odd take from just the trailers. When I think about the entirety of all I've seen, this would never register as "utterly stupid".

It's a monster hunting show.

Al Pacino hunting and and exacting revenge on Nazis.

What's not to like?

You may be right and it may be a flop but I don't get that sense from the trailers.

Other than not being able to understand much of what Pacino said during the first half of the first episode, it was a great premiere.

Hunting Nazis. That's pretty much the only thing I needed to see in the trailer to convince me to give it a shot.

Also, the cosmonaut shotgun story/warning was just a great moment.

My family was from pre-Nazi Germany (left lands and titles bc of those *******s) so there's nothing I enjoy more than seeing a good Nazi murdering.

Really enjoyed the first one.
Definite tone change in second episode...maybe I was just tired.
Love the soldier - guy is creepy.
Cosmonaut story and "chess" game were all kinds of fantastic

It was brutal. Pacino doing a Jewish accent all while mumbling made it difficult to follow along. He improved towards the end of the first episode and I'm hoping it keeps up.

Outside of that, I enjoyed the first two episodes. It is definitely over the top at times but that is obviously intentional. The creators of the show are clearly using their inner Tarantino for inspiration. My only real complaint, save Pacino's mumbling, is Logan Lerman's character being a bit of a b***h. He needs to man up in a serious way.

Can someone post what happened in the end? I understand the main plot point, but don't understand how they arrived there.

Hilarious because my wife and I always watch with subtitles, so I kept wondering how people didn't understand. Now I realize why..

Got hooked and binged the first 5 episodes. Had to force myself not to keep watching last night.

My wife can't handle it, depictions on how Jews/Catholics/Polish communities were tortured by the Nazi's at the camp were too real for her. She knows that I have over 30 family members that died at the camp and can't emotionally handle it.

it also shines a light on America and how they protected a lot of the evil Nazis so that they wouldn't fall to the Russians. I can see people having issues with that, but sadly very true.

I also really like the comic book undertone it sets up. Can't wait to finish the series later today.

I really like this show through three episodes but Lena Olin's character just doesn't work for me. Is she really the top bad guy in the show? She isn't convincing to me as a Nazi and her character isn't menacing in the least. I really hope there is someone else in that Nazi org above "The Colonel". The blonde American Nazi guy is far scarier than the old lady.

Lerner's character in Fury was a complete b*$ch as well, he really needs to play a character with balls in his next role if he doesn't want to get typecast as a poon.

I don't like to get political, but in a day and age when literally anyone who fails to tow the PC line as advocated by the media is called a Nazi, this seems to be just a normalization of killing white people.

Imagine watching this in the current year where Hollywood and the entirety of the left thinks all Trump supporters are Nazis and all whites are racist and thinking it was anything other than normalizing violence against Whites.

Watched six episodes yesterday. I'll probably keep going but I'm not sure if I want to. The tone within episodes is all over the map, and it doesn't feel like its working. I also feel like they didn't do a good job of being consistent in setting up or explaining who the Hunters are or some of the people they've hunted. It just doesn't feel like it's in a groove yet and I'm 6.5 hours in. So idk. *shoulder shrug emoji*

Upon completion I have changed my mind since my last post after three episodes. I didn't like this show. I wanted to enjoy it the way I liked Inglorious Basterds but I thought it was a fail. I'm not really sure what they were trying to do with it as it moved from grindhouse revenge flick with Tarantino like violence but then turned into almost a comic book storyline. The Nazi plot with the corn syrup was absurd and what's the deal with all the white people hate? The FBI agent goes on a stupid anti white people rant which was ridiculous in this show.

That's kind of where I'm at. It couldn't decide if it wanted to go full-Tarantino or full slap-stick and the result was a poor mix of both.

It did make me look up Operation PAPERCLIP for more information and the movie does stick pretty closely to what happened. It also editorializes with 21st century hindsight and impugns America's motives.

At the start/height of the Cold War, we could not afford to cede any advantage to the Soviets and while odious and distasteful to bring in Nazis to work for NASA and other agencies, it did help us to ultimately defeat the Soviets. The implication that all American institutions therefore are rampant with Nazis is just editorializing by the producers.

/rant over

Also if Pacino was the Wolf all along, what happened to the real Meyer Offerman? I might have missed that in the show since I kind of gave up paying real attention.

Sounds like garbage created by circle jerking liberals to me. Serious question, do they actually come out and compare these nazis to Trump supporters or is it just vaguely implied?

I have a feeling Jordan Peele genuinely despises white people and thinks they are inherently bad. Not the uber liberal elitists that he mingles with at Hollywood cocktail parties, obviously, but normal every-day white people. And that has nothing to do with him saying he would never cast a white guy as lead in any of his movies (apparently this isn't racist if it's a non-white guy saying it).

It's set in the 1970s, so not Trumpers exactly, but short answer: yes.

But that's where the tone of the show is confusing. In some cases it tries to be a very serious drama about actual atrocities in WWII (i.e. the holocaust). And it does that well in some episodes. But in other areas a major theme of the show that the US government has been infiltrated with literal Nazis trying to establish a fourth reich in the US. But does so in a way that I think is trying to be comical? I think it is trying to be like Inglorious Basterds, but it just totally whiffs.

So it tries to be sincere in some areas, but then it not-so-vaguely implies that most of the "establishment" party of the US govt are literal Nazis.

I think that's where you're hitting the nail on the head. In many of the Nazi movies and tv shows of the past, the Nazis were literally uniformed nazis and there was a clear difference between them and ordinary people. This show seems like "hey these ordinary appearing white people are actually cryptonazis, and they need to be killed as well". It doesn't take much of a leap to get to where literally anyone can be a Nazi (which we've seen anyone from Ben Shapiro to Donald Trump and the Sandman kid) and the implication is fairly obvious.

Any time a show is described as being "Tarantino-like" you know it is going to be dog *****

Quite the shocker that Boo Weekly is not a fan of Jordan Peele. I'm sure it was a real hard internal test deciding whether you really really loved the college bowl game player intro sketch or really really hated the description you read online of Get Out.

But yes, Peel totally hates white people, though, including his wife and kid.

They don't try to make a comparison between Nazis and Trump supporters. The show is typical modern Hollywood woke in that they add in a lesbian romance and lots of 1970s black power through a few characters. I am ok looking past that if it's a good well told story but one of the main characters goes on a rant in the end blaming the government and white people for creating a big mess by bringing Nazi scientists over after the War. People are entitled to be critical of that in hindsight I guess but I don't see how it was a racial issue and seemed ridiculous when she said it.
