I have been going down the rabbit hole with some reaction videos lately and I really wish I could experience some of the songs for the first time again. I am trying to think which song I would most want to hear again for the first time. So hard to put a finger on it.

Off the top of my head it would be Go Rest High on that Mountain by Vince Gill. What about you? Which would you experience again for the first time?

Chris Brown still sucks at life, but I have never laughed harder in my life. Then him dancing down the street and using the N word.

Welcome to the Jungle. The thing with the first listen of a song is that I'm not getting an in depth analysis. It's all the attention grabbing portions of the song. The first 1:30 of Welcome shakes you awake with the siren, and then it's off to the races. But it's so well known that I can't think of anyone that has that first "Oh holy hell" moment.

The best analogy that I can think of is bobsledding. Someone can describe it to you but until that first time down a track with the first couple turns as the "slow" ones do you realize that you are on a 4 minute rocket ship and it's only going to pick up speed. Actually the time down the Calgary bobsled run is pretty close to the run time for Welcome to the Jungle.

Spirit of Radio.

I was in 6th or 7th grade and I went to school the next morning talking about this song I heard last night. I thought it was called Invisible Airwaves and Amy Williams in my English class took much glee in telling me it was actually called Spirit of Radio by Rush. (and confirmed the singer was a guy, as I was previously unfamiliar with Rush.)

No lie, "Sandstorm" by Darude. I remember the first time was with in high school and one of my classmates was a Romanian kid who loooooved techno and convinced all of us that it would be a huge song. We all thought it was a good song at the time. Still is actually.

Take it to the bobsledding board.

probably gonna take a lot of heat for this but Sabbotage by Beastie Boys.

Thinking back to HS/middle school, world premier of videos was a big moment where many times, unless you were a huge fan of that band and had already bought the album, that's when you were hearing songs first.

That song had my immediate attention.

Not even the best song on the album. A wise man once told me
" When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

Paranoid Android by Radiohead. First time I heard that it straight up moved me. Was not expecting the slow, beautiful interlude or the awesome climax. Such a masterpiece.

I'd love to go back to the first time I heard Protest The Hero. The song was Bloodmeat. In a time where metal had gotten pretty stale, the amount of crazy awesomeness and uniqueness almost melted my brain. Then you go listen to the whole album, and get the joy of experiencing each album as they come out.

Other than that, I'd say the live version of Mother Father by Journey. Hearing Steve absolutely go off in a way that the recorded album could never possibly capture for the first time was jaw dropping. People today are still doing reaction videos with the same jaw drop.

very strange, but I remember driving down the road and hearing BR-549's Cherokee Boogie and I loved it. That's the only time I ever called a radio station and asked to know who it was and what the name of the song was.

Oh, and I loved this Brett Dennen cover of Hall & Oates Right as Rain the very first time I heard it.
