I saw Proof of Life right after Russell Crowe did Gladiator and that movie was awful. Same for The Beach with DiCaprio

The Beach is one of those films that I will stop and watch any time it's on...I don't know why. Maybe I just love Danny Boyle films

I actually liked it. I thought the metaphorical aspect of it was as subtle as a brick but the acting and dialogue was top notch. Plus at 90 min, it felt like the perfect in and out.

I'm also a sucker for weird, dystopian premises. I can see how the ending would turn a lot of people off.

The Colony (on Hulu which is a hint) got me b/c it had Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton. That one starts off interesting enough and then really fades enough to be in the SUCK category.

I could only make it about 20 minutes into the Irishmen and it felt like a bunch of washed up actors trying to relive the glory days. Got bored. Is that one worth investing 3 hours or was I right?

I couldn't finish the Irishman either. Probably what got me the most was De Niro and Pesci playing the young version of their characters. When De Niro beats someone up he has to pause between punches and kicks to keep from falling down. I'm not knocking the guys for being old, but that aspect of the movie was just more than I could get past.

Crap! You are right. OK. Face off, ConAir, Gone in 60 seconds - which ever was last, was probably last good Cage movie. The Rock was good too, but I think earlier.
