Watched Goon the other day off a recommendation from another thread and really enjoyed it. Saw there was a Goon 2 made as well, watched it but of course it did not deliver like the first one did. It got me thinking about how sequels usually don't hold up compared to the original. I can only think of one, off the top of my head, where I enjoyed the sequel more than the first one; Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. I liked the first, but the second one was brilliant. You got any?

I go back and forth on this but The Godfather 2 oftentimes has me thinking its better than its predecessor. But at other times, I think the original has it beaten just barely.

Ten posts in, and I'm the first to mention one of the greatest sequels of all time, The Dark Knight? Definitely a step above Batman Begins, even though I love that movie as well.

TDK was more of an "event" and a wow moment when it came out, but in terms of watching over and over again, I actually prefer TDKR too.
