Emo Forever: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX9wa6XirBPv8?si=_l8huivsQQuYZKGUCu_qlg
Pure Pop Punk: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DXasneILDRM7B?si=Lrp-QygnQA-OSPp_ZfIL8w
16yo daughter loves most of these currents (plus olds like MCR, Weezer, Blink 182, Greenday, ect). She wanted me to add:
-neck deep
-stand atlantic
-happy
-broadside
-bring me the horizon
-with confidence
-between you & me
-meet me @ the altar
-prmrse
-makeout
-grayscale
-two trains left
-doll skin
-oh, weatherly
-save face
-origami angel
-baseline
-waterparks (more of their old stuff, their newer stuff is more alternative)
+1 for Neck Deep. December (again) is the single that got me listening to them. It features Mark Hoppus so I was guaranteed to like it.
Only reason I (well, daughter) posted the list is because people that like the whole emo vibe/style of MCR etc, good to know of small, up-and-coming bands. Love how quoted poster listed some lesser known emo-ish bands for those that might want to check them out.
Of the list my daughter posted, she is biggest on Waterparks, who are out of Houston (Cypress), and have gotten a lot of radio/sat radio traction. About a year and a half ago, she and I made a run to our small neighborhood Buccee's (not one of the giant ones you are familiar with) in Greatwood. Daughter walks out of bathroom, walks up to me, and says to the girl standing near me "Grace?!" She recognized her as the girlfriend of the Waterparks drummer, who was outside vacuuming his Jeep. Met him, got a quick pic, and left. Her only regret is she has a shirt that says "Otto is my mom," which happens to be some random Waterparks murch.
Also, while not technically emo, check out Yungblud, different style that is difficult to categorize. British dude. Def alternative, with some rap elements. Still small, but blew up a little when he dated and did a collab with Halsey. Also did a calab with Machine Gun Kelley.
