I think it helped that' after the trailer I went in with zero expectations. It was pretty much what I thought it would be.
But I am looking forward to the post after the movie, because outside of Chris Evans it doesn't get better, if anything it gets more towards what you already don't like.
And not just any algorithm, the original Netflix algorithm - the one that would make recommendations like "since you like movies with chase scenes in Prague and off-the-books super spies who aren't slowed down by multiple deep stab wounds, give Gray Man a try"TCTTS said:

every third shot of THE GRAY MAN looks like this and I don't want to exaggerate but it's one of the ugliest movies i've seen in years pic.twitter.com/fOsBXc3v2l

I heard THE GRAY MAN lacked originality, but I didn't expect them to literally try and recreate the "oner" halo jump from MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT in a haze of hideous CGI smoke and incomprehensible visuals. It's a masterclass in how *not* to do one of these scenes. pic.twitter.com/jZDVygTVQW

I don’t disagree, which is why this is so shocking.

Just trying for James Bond level success, no pressure.
This is the first I've heard of it, btw.

Can't wait for Generic Netflix Spy Movie 2!
Here's to another ridiculously conventional plot that feels like it was written by an algorithm, with even more terrible yet confidently delivered one-liners!
Can't wait to see which run-of-the-mill international locations we get to visit! Especially ones that have no relation to the characters inhabiting them or connection to the story as a whole.
Oh, and cliched, corrupt officials with no discernible motivations? Yeah, I'm going to need even more of those for sure. In fact, while you're at it, I'm also hoping we get at least three additional retired officials willing to blow themselves up to save the day, because two in one movie wasn't nearly enough.
I don't know about you, but maybe another evil assassin with an incomprehensible moral compass as well?
What about a flatter, even-more-digital aesthetic? Preferably one that looks even worse than a CW show this time, as opposed to an aesthetic on par with one?
Also, the more bland, cheap-to-option classic rock songs, the better. Thank you!
And last not but least… drone shots! So. Many. Done. Shots. Hell yes!!!!!
I was literally thinking "this is just like that OTHER movie with a spy who is being hunted by his own agency with evil government officials in on a vast conspiracy"oragator said:
Maybe it will be great, but it looks like about a dozen other similar movies.
I'm no expert. Can you explain what makes these shots bad?TCTTS said:every third shot of THE GRAY MAN looks like this and I don't want to exaggerate but it's one of the ugliest movies i've seen in years pic.twitter.com/fOsBXc3v2l

If this is a movie based on the Mark Greaney novels (The Gray Man Series) count me in. I have been a fan for ten years.
FYI - Greaney was the best ghost writer that took over for Tom Clancy after his death. Great writer, and material to make a movie.

is there any other type of movie out there anymore?

What the hell was that ending? I was putting this in the "indifferent" category for the first 99% but that finale was so… sudden and inconsequential. There were 14 minutes left, I thought surely the drive would matter or the head ****** would be taken down or something. But nope! Just another getaway like the other 30 getaways we'd already seen. Credits.
Yes! The Ken doll!oragator said:
Pretty much what I expected above. Standard fare, ok for what it was trying to be. Couple of good lines, the Ken doll reference for one. The Prague scene was massively over the top, and there wasn't much of a plot, but wasn't expecting one going in.
And was fun to watch Chris Evans go against type, thought he did well.
They definitely said Harvard more than any other action movie that I can remember.LMCane said:setting up for a second season to take down the Harvard educated anger management CIA directorrhutton125 said:

100% spot onABATTBQ11 said:
My issue is everyone else's. It was generic, cliche, packed with one liners, and and way too long. I remember at one point thinking, "How is this not over yet?" Also, there were just so many places where the plot seemed idiotic. The wipe Prague scene had me thinking, "Where do all these guys come from, and how do they get here so far with ask of these guns?" And then you have Suzanne who is supposed to be babysitting Lloyd, but she spends 95% of the movie complaining about how crazy he is and how he's ****ing things up before she finally kills him. If he was that bad, you have a gun, *****. It's almost like everyone involved with this tried to make it a caricature of a spy action thriller without overtly making it a caricature of a spy action thriller.
