Hell yes season 2 started yesterday!

Best "WTF" has this been in my life series we've watched in a while. Last year my wife and I went through withdrawal after randomly finding the show and watching season 1.

Literally just got sucked into it bout an hour ago. Friend is marathoning the second season. Watched two episodes and had to leave. Gotta watch first season first now. Never even heard of this until then.

Just finished it. I love this show. Not going to share any spoilers. I'll just say that if you liked the first season, there's really no way you won't like the 2nd.

I am about 4 episodes in, and so far it doesn't strike me as on par with last season. It's good, but not as good, IMO. And why does Ellen Page look like she has a terminal illness?

It really picks up steam in episode 5 if you ask me. It has dragged a little but is overall interesting and good. I'm only to episode 6 though so I don't know how it finishes.

It starts slow because they're practically doing a reset with the characters. They all land at the same place but different points in time and attempt to live life on their own before finding each other. So the first half of the show is a lot of character development, filling in gaps, and building for the second half. But just like last season, it pretty much all builds to the final two episodes.

I'm 4 eps in and think it's probably better. The story seems a little more focused this time. Definitely enjoying it. Plus it's fun that its set in Dallas.

I'd never even heard of this show until a buddy told me he was watching it on Sunday and recommended it. Then I saw this thread last night and decided to watch the first four episodes of season 1 and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fully agree that Ellen Page's character is an uninteresting ass whip so far though.

Agreed. I think the route they want on in this series as about as honest to the comic as you can get while still attempting to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible.

Season 2 definitely cut back on a lot of the needless drama, but there was still plenty. My hope is that season 3, with two seasons of character building behind them, really moves to deliver some more action and purpose for the characters.

she is just unappealing all around. always has been

When she was in Juno, she was kinda cute and interesting. Now you can tell she's going for the woke feminist look and it's as unattractive as possible.

Between this and Interstellar, she is just a terrible actress. She seems overly stiff, almost bored when acting.

Obviously you've never seen her classic debut performance in the masterpiece that is Trailer Park Boys.

Klaus might be one of my favorite tv characters ever.

Finished watching it today. Binged both seasons the last couple of days.

Klaus really reminds me of Jack Sparrow in a lot of his mannerisms

Fun season but it definitely looks like this show is falling into the trap of ... we fixed this screw up but we made an even bigger one now we have to fix, aka Supernatural for the last decade.

I liked the first season just fine, but I really loved this season. Thought it was great and super entertaining.

I'm even considering reading the comics, although I'm wondering if they'll just be too weird... anyone read them?

Loved the new season. If you like Klaus, you might like the actor in a similar role on a show called Misfits. It's about some delinquents stuck doing community service when a storm rolls through and gives everyone different superpowers. I believe it's on Hulu these days. Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones is on the show too.

We finished the 2nd one last night. Still love this show. Tough to say which season I like better which shows how much we enjoyed the second.

The first season had a lot of character development that was fascinating when presenting a new idea to the viewer of a super hero/magical powers/etc.

Loved the deeper dive into the Commission as well as Reggie in season two. I also felt there was more humor injected, particularly with Luther and his reactions to different scenarios. Maybe it was there in the first season and we're too far removed from it, but it stood out to us.

A lot of the musical numbers were great too so long as it didn't lead to page dancing. Dancing with myselfs fight sequence was great

I couldn't find a season one thread for The Umbrella Academy, so I'm going to ask here. I just finished binging season one. I haven't read any of the posts in this thread as I'm about to start season two.

Have a few questions, 7 babies were adopted out of the 42-43 born, seems like the other 35 would be adults with powers now as well. Why do you think that wasn't mentioned at all? It was 2019, but no one used cell phones, still had pay phones on the side of the road. Why? Were Cha Cha and Hazel part of the batch of babies? They had similar skills (powers) as Luther and Diego. Last one, why wasn't there an explanation of what happened that caused the women to become pregnant with those kids?

Don't want to give anything away... but probably a good chance this comes up down the road

Fairly certain this is the big piece of the overall story arch. There were a few revelations (well maybe just one) in S2 that add more mystery to this
