I was listening to a podcast that talked about the influence Star Wars had on androids in science fiction, and it got me wondering how different the world would be if Lucas had never created Star Wars.
Just off the top of my head, the following movies wouldn't exist.
Every Pixar movie (Spinoff of Lucasfilm)
Indiana Jones series (It may have possibly existed, but not from Lucasfilm and certainly not starring Harrison Ford)
Terminator, and likely every James Cameron movie (The reason he became a director is because of Star Wars)
Moonraker (Made due to the popularity of Star Wars)
Spaceballs
Would possibly not exist:
Jurassic Park (Was mainly possible due to the innovations created by ILM and advanced by the Indy tv series and later T2.)
Alien? (This one feels very insipired by Star Wars, but I'm not sure if it was.)
Guardians of the Galaxy (It's really hard to imagine it existing without Star Wars)
Star Trek (Abrams reboot; Feels very SW-influenced)
I'm sure there's a ton of other things. (Movies, series, music, etc.)
What else comes to mind?
