As others have said, cookbooks are another requirement in physical form. My wife has 350+ cookbooks and they are sacred to her. I just counted them a couple of months ago during a whole house cleanout. Was amazed at what we have.

Why is it a requirement?

My wife keeps links to recipes online from Martha Stewart, Giada, etc.

But those aren't books. Digital cookbooks are awful.

She just prefers the physical format. Way easier to use than digital in actual practice. Plus, it's her "hobby". She likes to collect them and many of them are out of print and can no longer be found anywhere even digitally.

Also, huge sentimental value in that many of them were here mom's who passed away a few years ago.

I get all that.... it was just that you said it was a requirement to be in physical form. That confused me.

It's not, it's a choice or preference which you said now.

It's her requirement.

Good luck arguing the semantics of that with her.

physical cookbooks are 100% better than digital. flipping through pages, looking at an index, making notes, all that is easier with a printed page. also, you don't have to worry about the screen deciding to turn off when your hands are covered in ground meat and you want to check what the next step is.

I agree. But can I also just say that I've always been annoyed by the way recipes are most often structured? I hate that the amount of each ingredient is listed at the top, but then never again. It's really annoying to read "Add vanilla" and then have to go back to the list of ingredients to be reminded of how much. Why don't they just put the amount in both places? Nobody pre-measures each ingredient into ten nice little matching bowls like on cooking shows. I'm not measuring it until I need it.

Just buy a set of deli containers that come in 3 sizes: cup, pint, and quart. I get everything ready to go using those, they're one of the most useful things I have in my kitchen.

Great for measuring, food storage, etc. I try and use as few of them at once as I can, but also they're dishwasher safe so you can just rinse them and throw them in there after.

Also the lids are great for slicing cherry tomatoes, berries, anything small like that. Just put them in between two lids and slice through them.

I bought a bunch of movies that are going to get cancelled like Blazing Saddles and Song of the South in physical form, but that is it.
