This one was pretty iconic.
And it's back side was even more so.

When I was a kid if someone'e parents had this album it would be examined very closely when they were out of the house....
the inside foldout was even more provocative.
I was enthralled as a 13 year old but not even sure what was going on here but I was intrigued.

I love classic rock but I've never been into album covers. My music collection started with cassettes, which had cover art limitations. This thread is making me re-evaluate my life.
I have two friends with incredible rooms filled with album covers, but there are so many albums, and they're all a little small for wall artwork. I may find 10 covers and get poster sized posters instead of the smaller album covers.

His persona is off-putting (though legit for his dad, with whom he has unresolved issues)
What I appreciate about Springsteen is he really cares about giving the audience their money's worth, and he admits and has fun with that "persona put-on."
He does have some excellent songs - I remember being first hit by Murder Inc. like a freight train....and stuff left of the cutting room floor that makes up 18 Tracks is ... damned great.

Clampdown and Card Cheat always make me smile
The original cover for GNR's Appetite for Destruction was also pulled after release.
It was later included as a insert and replaced with the well known skull and cross bones logo

I mean it is great I agree. but most don't know the origin of it. Even though it is better than the original.
