Love Sound and Fury,

Definitely an album to listen to it in its entirety , I last listened to it driving solo through Big Bend State Park while the others were still crashed out at dawn. The sequencing of tracks and ebb and flow of the album is pretty much on point.

I took some slo-mo video clips of a high school football game and put them to a soundtrack of Ronin from Sound & Fury. Epic.

My indie release vinyl of Vol 1 is in the mail to arrive today. I haven't listened at all to Vol 1, reserving a virgin listen. Vol 2. ordered in color indie release as well.

Really glad such high profile artists like Sturgill are bringing bluegrass to a larger audience. I love both of these cuts.

Excited to see more Sailors Guide on this one, honestly still my favorite album of his (and I love all his stuff).

There are a good number off the first cut that I enjoy more than their original versions, I'm sure this one will be no different.

And I think the April date you saw is for the vinyl/physical media. I just preordered it.

I liked Vol 1quite a bit. I think 2 is even better, a lot of songs seem to fit getting the bluegrass treatment better

I preface this with I love Sturgill's music, but not a huge Bluegrass fan. Which would explain why I had a really hard time with Cuttin Grass. Felt converting his hits to Bluegrass lost the soul/bluesy'ness that makes his music so great, but with that said I'll let it simmer a bit.

Digging this version of Keep it Between the Lines, but it's more of a funky beat than most bluegrass. I'm not into bluegrass at all but A Sailor's Guide is so phenomenal that I'll give this several listens.

I just sampled a few from the first Cuttin Grass when it came out and wasn't interested in listening much more. If anything can get me enjoying bluegrass I guess it'll be this new release.

I definitely appreciate his variety!

Ordered and listened to - multiple times - on very first availability. I also have all his music in both physical and streaming form.

Got mine in the mail yesterday as well. Same exact color. I put off listening until I got it.

Overall I think the Cuttin Grass release is fun, but I don't think I'll listen to it that much. To me making them bluegrass takes the personality out of the song. They all kind of sound the same with all the banjo and pickin'.

The only other bluegrass I own outside of these two is REKs bluegrass album, so maybe things will grow on me, but for now I prefer the original versions of the songs.
