I can't stop watching.

The writers introducing "Holodecks" was the worst thing to happen to the Star Trek universe.

Start from Season 3 and it is fine, sometimes really good, occasionally brilliant

ST is more fantasy than SW.

I don't care that it's campy at times, TNG is one of my favorite shows of all time.

I have mentioned before that the inner light is maybe my favorite episode of any Star Trek series.
But one episode has always stuck with me, "Remember Me". It's the one where Beverly is trapped in the warp bubble and doesn't realize it.
There is a line towards the end of the episode that basically implies that we make our own reality. How cool would it be if all of us were living in a world of our own creation?

There was an episode from one of those early seasons where Wesley broke a window playing baseball (yes, baseball) on an alien planet. The punishment for breaking the window was death.

It was, without a doubt, the worst episode of Star Trek ever.

It was also weird how Picard in the early seasons had the worst temper ever when it came to Wesley.

Because Wesley deserved it. They should have killed him off violently.

Maybe they did. I don't remember much about that show anymore other than I hated Wesley.

"Justice" was the 7th episode.

After that, I think Starfleet only went to Risa to use humans as sex slaves.

it wasn't a window and it wasn't baseball. they were throwing a ball and he crashed through some plants. lame. but not baseball.

weak episode for sure but it really tested the non interference first directive. that was pertinent to a lot of stuff down the road.

Picard was very consistent with being uncomfortable around children and lacked patience.

Far from the worst episode actually. Try the season 7 Dr. Crusher ghost episode on a Scottish recreation village remote settlement on some planet.

I love ST:TNG with a passion. there are stinker episodes but there is so much great stuff.

Anytime Data does another character - Lore or his emotions get messed up or acting like some fictional character on the holodeck, etc. And of course hte Borg stuff. But there are others too.

Did a full S7 rewatch recently. That seasons is amazing. Some truly great stuff (Descent Part II, All Good Things, Pegasus, Gambit, Preemptive Strike the Ro Laren culmination, and Lower Decks maybe the best stand alone single episode) and some train wreck stuff. Seemed like a lot of ideas they had banging around for a while and decided to just do them (ghost episode, ancient artifacts taking over the ship, where the entire crew de-evolved to lizards and stuff, resettling a Native American outpost because.....we haven't wronged them enough) lol.

Enterprise was THE flagship of the fleet. Of course it was the most buttoned down and serious.And everyone except guests were starfleet and among their best.

DS9 was a space station with a small crew and a lot of non starfleet personnel. It was gonna be more cavalier in nature. It allowed them the freedom to explore things and be looser.

I never had a problem with that difference.

It's like comparing the crew of a US flagship aircraft carrier and the crew of a crab fishing boat in Alaska.

Correct. Wesley was chasing a ball, leapt over the white fence that God set up and crashed through a greenhouse, damaging a plant within the punishment zone. He was sentenced to death immediately by the ambiguously gay duo. This was all happening while the rest of the landing crew was getting their freak on.

She's not wearing a bra and shirtless dude is definitely checking out Wesley's package.

Again, incredibly dumb show. But again, also fascinating and sometimes completely brilliant. There's a lot of good subtle and not-so-subtle commentary on the human condition.
