It's the same music in Lonesome Dove.
Both scores (Lonesome Dove & Quigley Down Under) were done by a fellow by the name of Basil Poledouris (who did Conan the Barbarian, The Hunt For Red October). These were in back-to-back years, so I'm sure there were a lot of similarities. That happens frequently enough; if you go listen to the score for Star Trek II, and then listen to Aliens, you'll hear some similarities given that both were by the same composer.ok_ag95 said:
It's pretty darn close..... I was going through my westerns over the holidays. It's really, really similar. Some of it exactly the same.

Fun movie no doubt. Great acting by all involved. It's one of those movies that I always stop on if I come across it. If I recall correctly, the main theme in Quigley borrows from the main theme in The Sons of Katie Elder.
