Police Squad!

It was a cop show done by the Airplane! movie directors. The typical Abrams/Zucker/Abrams fare, like Kentucky Fried Movie and Airplane. For instance there was one guy who was so tall his neck and head were out of the frame on every scene.

The series essentially became the "pilot" for the Naked Gun franchise movies. In fact, I think Leslie Nielson was even in the series. I remember loving it and being very disappointed (but not surprised) when it was cancelled.

So loved Naked Gun growing up but didn't know there was a TV show it was based off. Just watched an episode and it was great. Thanks

Yeah it was intense and funny and loved the movie tie ins. really thought it would stick

Agree. Really enjoyed it.

One that pops out to me was Smith with Ray Liotta. A bunch of professional thieves who had second lives as regular people.

I had a big run of shows I'd really get into in that time frame that wouldn't even finish their first season.

Also really liked Forever with Ioan Gruffudd

We watched Police Squad! every week and laughed our @sses off every time. Couldn't believe it when it was cancelled after only 4 episodes had aired.
