Ah, you're a Dune guy. I learned of Shai Hulud from the band.Shai-Hulud said:mazag08 said:Shai-Hulud said:

I am just a big worm that hates water
Also, how did both Godzilla and Kong get on top of an aircraft carrier without turning it over and sinking it?AtlAg05 said:YouBet said:
In this poster, it actually looks like they shrunk Godzilla now.
Just forced perspective, they put the ship up close and they are really far behind it. Don't pay any attention to Kong being in front of the command tower.
I know! The physics of this is so all over the place though that I can't help but comment on it.Cinco Ranch Aggie said:
I'd just like to point out that this is a movie about two immense critters battling each other. Who the heck needs logic at a time like this?
I can imagine some poor soul did this with WW84 to make sure they didn't see the wrong movie in theaters.TCTTS said:
Pretty sure this is the first blockbuster in history in which this will be possible. Where we can watch it in a theater and then immediately (and officially) watch it at home the second we get back from the theater.
Kudos for that accomplishment so quickly after it came out.TCTTS said:
Damn it I had completely blocked that movie from my mind.

This looks like the sequel to Pacific Rim I always wanted

I would add two caveats to Godzilla. Mediocre and boring for the most part, yes, but there *are* a few really cool sequences, with some of the best cinematography of the franchise - shots that make Godzilla look incredible at times. The movie does a really good job of capturing the scale of it all, and the stuff with those two monsters passing the nuke to each other in the middle of the city is pretty eerie too, in the best way.
But yeah, otherwise, it's so damn slow and methodical, and the casting kind of sucks. Or, rather, I actually like the cast but they were all bland, cardboard characters here. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, especially, should not have led this movie. And killing Cranston half way through was one of the dumbest decisions ever. Any pulse the movie had just completely flatlines after that point.
Nah, you're not crazy. I legitimately thought that GKOTM was a lot of fun, but that's just the monster movie fan that I am. Seeing Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidora on the big screen just put a smile on my face and took me back to when I was 5 and the original Godzilla movies were the bee's knees for me.Champ Bailey said:
I must be crazy, because I loved KOM. Thought it was one of the most beautifully shot monster movies ever made. Couldn't tell you what the plot was, because I'm just here to watch big monsters F each other up
Yeah, that line would have worked better for this film, but they already "used up" Watanabe as well.Brian Earl Spilner said:
It's too bad they already used up Ken Watanabe saying "let them fight" dramatically. Cause damn would that be hype as hell for GvK.
