The Americans is great - one of the best shows of the last 20 years IMO. It can be a slow burn, but it's worth it.

Tehran on Apples streaming platform was not too bad. Didn't think it was amazing but my wife and I enjoyed it.

The Americans is great. Such an intense show and the characters are terrific.

I need to catch up on Tehran. I agree with your assessment - not great, but engaging show. Ted Lasso will be my favorite Apple show for a lonnnnng time.

Season 2 of patriot is just season 1 on steroids, but it has some absolutely hilarious moments. I think it's episode 6 or 7 that's called "F John Wayne" and that whole episode is a riot. I loved seasons but I wouldn't really call it espionage. It's more about the inherent challenge of getting something from point a to point b.

The Spy series on Netflix starring Sacha Baren Cohen playing the role of Israeli spy Eli Cohen was very good.

Also Tehran was very good.

Docu-series on Netflix that found me, Spycraft. Shows the tools, tricks and strategies for world spies. Show historical and modern spy warfare from audio, video, assassinations, sex, etc. each episode is 30 mins and I have found very entertaining.

The Conversation with Gene Hackman is probably my 2nd favorite movie from the 70s behind Jaws. Enemy of the State is one of the most underrated movies of the 90s and a somewhat spiritual sequel.

Eye in the Sky came out 5 years ago and is really good.

Taking things a little less seriously, Winter Soldier and Furious 7 can be considered spy films.

This was really good. Especially at the time when we were living the Cold War. Even holds up well today.

The twist at the very end, awesome.

It gets kind of slept on, but one of my favorite movies that involves espionage is Munich. I love the spycraft depicted in that movie.

The Americans.... greatness. One of my favorite finales ever.

Homeland... first few seasons were great.

The Night Manager is great, and made me think Hiddleston could play Bond

Person of Interest is probably the best standard tv show in this genre

The Game (british) not the US show, and not the Michael Douglas movie. British MI5 spy show. One season and its outstanding. I think you can watch on Google Play or Vudu

First, great name

Second, I loved the whole series. The way they work in comedy is fantastic. Cool Rick has a scene that made me laugh as hard as any scene I can remember. The Beasties will always make me think of Cool Rick.

I don't know if you think this is espionage but the Jack Ryan series on Amazon is all about intelligence but maybe more of a political thriller.

One that definitely is espionage is The Looming Tower on Hulu - A Docudrama all about the intelligence failures in the late 90s that led to 9/11..

Bodyguard is a British series starring Richard Madden (Robb Stark from GOT) in an MI-6 spy series on Netflix. Just 6 episodes but I liked it.

try counterpart on amazon. it's only 2 seasons so it can be a quick watch. it's a mixture of spy/espionage with sci-fi (reminiscent of dark).

Tehran started out great but turned quickly...somewhere around when she's a most wanted Israeli Jew in Iran who decided to participate in marches and demonstrations on the streets.
