How is iron maiden not in? And this is their first time nominated?? They still sellout stadiums internationally!

Do YOU know the way to San Jose?

Pat Benatar almost got in last year and not even on the list this year. Look for a go go's push. There was the documentary last year and that usually leads to induction.
The RRHOF doesn't actually care much for Rock. It has a surprising number of bands/entertainers that have nothing to do with rock at all, like Miles Davis.snowdog90 said:
This list is just ridiculous when you consider these bands that are not in..
Bad Company
Ozzy Osbourne
Judas Priest
Jethro Tull
Soundgarden
The Black Crowes
Motley Crue
Kansas
Foreigner
Boston
On the list, I like
Foo
Maiden
RatM

I realize this. And it's dumb.
ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME
Without Boston? Seriously. Boston is not in and they want to nominate the New York ****ing Dolls.
What sense does that make? Same for all the others on the list that aren't in.

Iron Maiden, the New York Dolls, and Todd Rundgren are the only rock and rollers on that short list.

I weirdly couldn't tell you one song by Iron Maiden. I have no idea if I've ever even heard one of their songs. I assume I have. Just never really listened to them growing up for some reason and they weren't ever that big on MTV from what I remember.
It's like there is a void in my memory where IM should have been. Especially considering my age.
I'm a huge metal head and really don't them that well either.YouBet said:
Run to the hills and 2 minutes to midnight sound familiar. I'm certain I know the former.
I had to have heard them on Headbangers Ball at least. Anyway just weird I don't know them well.
I am not a fan of Book of Souls- I feel like it needed some editing. But the rest of the post 2000 stuff is pretty awesome overall.digging tunnels said:
Just started getting into Iron Maiden within the last 5-6 years, and I feel deprived not having the radio stations play them growing up. During the 90s in Houston, KLOL, I remember hearing Run to the Hills and The Trooper. When I got to CS in 1996, I listened to 92.1 KTSR religiously for the next 7 years and barely heard Iron Maiden as well.
Now thanks to Sirius and Spotify, they are now one of my favorite bands. Those albums of the 80s are absolutely stellar. I'm still learning their catalog

who?
lead singer before Dickinson was Paul Di'Anno. Not aware of an Eddie. If it was before Paul it was before their first album.
