Oh..... lol.

Was thinking of the "band".... yeah that's a stretch. No fictional cartoon character is part of the band. Sorry. Now if you want to induct the artist who created it.... maybe.

He's also part of their live shows.

I'm going to have to go seek out some Iron Maiden now.

Start with Number of the Beast, then Piece Of Mind, then Powerslave. It'll blow up from there

Speaking of Iron Maiden, this is a bit long but well worth a watch. She's an opera singer watching/hearing them for the first time.

She does a similar cold breakdown of David Draiman doing the Disturbed cover of Sound of Silence. That blew her mind.

This is brilliant! I love hard rock and melodic metal but I am by no means a trained musician. It is really cool to watch a professional dissect the songs I have loved for decades.

I love IM. I can't wait for this Covid BS to be finished so we can have live concerts again.

My 10yr and 12 yr old daughters can pick out an IM song like nobody's business. Steve Harris is one hell of a songwriter and Bruce Dickinson is a great singer.

I was turned onto them in about 1993 and my first album was "Live After Death".

IM's attitude RE: the HOF is kind of like Curt Schilling in the BB HOF. "Screw em if they don't want me in."

Going to watch the video posted above now. BRB!

Rick Beato - What makes this song great series

You should try Rick. He's a producer in Atlanta that walks through tons of songs. Does it from the perspective of someone who has listened to the songs before also and points out all the good parts. Most have the seperate tracks from the songs and I learn something every time.

It's already getting watered down, people getting in on solo careers (Stevie Nicks, Tina). Just look at who will be left in 5. They're going to start letting in relatively weaker bands like Oasis and Weezer.

Greta van Fleet, Halestorm, Pretty Reckless, Eclipse

Just to name a few. Tons more awesome new rock bands out there.

Tons of British hard rock that may never make it.

Alan Parsons Project.

I still can't figure out who Pat Benatar pissed off. Or didn't sleep with. Jimmy Iovine cough cough.

Pat Benatar will get in next year. That's my guess. She does not have the same profile as Stevie Nicks and Tina Turner nor did she seem to live the rock and roll lifestyle. Put her career up against the go gos, or the solo careers of Stevie and Tina and she is very comparable or better.

I just realized Phil Collins is not in (as a solo artist). Wouldn't be hard to put together an argument that he belongs in before Tina Turner. Probably start with him selling about 50 million more records, and writing his own music. Dude was everywhere in the 80's. Bonus points for being an extra in A Hard Days Night. And a benefactor of Alamo artifacts.

He gets forgotten for some reason. Too bad, dude has some great songs.

Rock is NOT dead

Commercial radio went to hell a long time ago, that's the issue

Great new rock all the time
- NEW recently ...... among other legends
Foo Fighters
Who
Paul McCartney
AC/DC
Cheap Trick
Van Morrison

AND who is almost alone in keeping me optimistic about good rocking for the future

RIVAL SONS
Put them in the Hall right now, like they were Bobby Orr

Really? Oasis, the greatest British band of our generation? Weak?

They definitely could have been stronger, had I been allowed to final edit of track selection, minor lyric re-writes, and cover art ..... but come on man. They were and still are amazing, including side projects and solo.

I knew a hardcore Oasis fan would take offense at my take.

I played the hell out of the 1st two albums, great stuff. Very disappointed in Be Here Now, and that was all she wrote. If you're saying the albums after that were as good as the 1st two, then maybe they're HOF worthy. But I'm thinking most feel like they can't get in based on 2 albums (albeit one masterpiece)

Also, there is a hidden bias against some British bands. Took forever to get T Rex in, and very influential The Smiths, who had four #1 or #2 albums in the UK, haven't even been nominated
