Also, pretty much every scene with Commodus after the halfway point in Gladiator. Busy little bees. Still afraid of the dark. Am I not merciful.

American Sniper where the terrorists grab a man's child, hold him back and use a cordless drill to drill into his kid's skull while he is restrained and can only watch helplessly. Having a son about the same age I shudder at the anguish and horror of that scene.

I think the interstellar scene on the water planet is such a great call. I have such a hard time watching that scene. Not only do they make the realization that they effed up and are going to lose years trying to get out of there, but then the realization of why the water is so shallow and the incoming mega-tsunami. The whole thing is just terrifying.

Oh there was some ridiculous big heist and of course the plane crashes in the mountains. Can't be reached by helicopter they have to climb to get to it and force Rocky...err Sly to guide them to the cases of money. Chaos ensues. John Lithgow was the head bad guy.

I've never felt particularly stressed by a movie until Eye In The Sky. For some reason, the slow build up left me exhausted at the end.

The scene in Swingers where Mike gets a girl's phone number at the bar, then goes home and calls her about seven times, leaving an awkward and desperate message each time.

Wife and i just watched Greenland with Gerard Butler. I thought it was very well done. It's about a comet coming to destroy earth so plenty of stressful moments throughout. Not sure which scene was the most anxiety inducing. Filled with desperate people doing anything they can think to in order to stay alive, so tensions are high the entire time.

Add to it that I was sitting first row, all the way the left, six feet from the screen with my Jewish buddy. Only movie I was more uncomfortable watching was Crying Game. Not terrifying I know, but squirm worthy.

Coupled with the music, yep, that scene was quite stressful.

Speaking of which, the movie Dunkirk featured a ticking sound in its score that started roughly in the first five minutes and did not let up until right at the end. When I noticed the ticking had ended, I actually exhaled as if I'd been holding my breath the entire movie.

Recently the climb on Free Solo is a good one. I needed to rest after watching Gravity. My favorite though is Clarice in Buffalo Bill's basement while he stalks her in the dark.

Reservoir Dogs, torturing the rookie cop
Pulp Fiction, Zed
Gravity, first wave of destruction
Harry Potter 4, Harry brings Cedric's body back (the crowd's slow realization and Amos's reaction always get me)
I Am Legend, having to put Sam down

On the QT front, the opening to Inglorious Basterds is pretty intense, but the dog scene in Django is brutal. Zed from Pulp wasn't as intense (for me) as the adrenaline shot to the heart.

I went with a buddy and joked afterwards that my heart was pounding so much it was like a cardio workout. He checked his Fitbit or garmin or whatever and while he didn't hit an actual cardio zone it was enough to be considered exercise.

I just noticed that the guy on the radio was saying "tear gas is a last resort only" 2 seconds before the soldiers blow him off and fire canisters of tear gas into the crowd.

That's an intense movie. I went into it thinking it was going to be about a kid aiming to be the next Buddy Rich. I had no idea about the Teacher/Student abuse.

Black Hawk Down was pretty intense. I remember reading some commentary about someone who said after the movie, if someone had yelled RPG he might have hit the ground out of instinct.
