Episode 1 is out on Disney+.

Read no reviews and I have to say it's much better than expected. I think fans of the series will enjoy it.

Anyone else seen it?

I had no idea this was in the works until it popped up on Disney+. When they're well done I actually enjoy these reboots. It's way more interesting to see a where-are-they-now type story than a straight remake. I'm sure it's automatic viewership from people in my generation who can't help but watch stuff that was a fixture of their childhood.

Cobra Kai is good enough that I've wanted to continue watching past the point of fulfilling the nostalgia, so I'll be interested to see how this one is.

My first thought was I liked how they Cobra Kai'd this one. (Making Ducks the bad guys, Bombay is "washed-up" ala Johnny, etc.)

That won't last. He'll fall in love with the game and helping kids again. The children will help him realize why he loves it. He's also gonna get freaky with Lorelai.

This.

Plus, "I hate hockey and I don't like kids" was lifted straight from D1. Nice callback.

Bombay becoming the ultimate cake eater was hilarious.

Hope the ducks coach gets the chance to shine. He's hilarious on Letterkenny.

We've watched a lot of Disney movies with kids during covid and I was totally surprised that "Reiley" had been cast on multiple Disney movies. When I realized who it was I leaned over to my wife's ear whispering "f*** you shorsey".

Watched it with my kids and we all enjoyed it. I do find it funny Lauren Graham became famous playing a young single mom of a 15 year old. Now 21 years later, she's playing a single mom of a 12 year old. Good for her.

Just finished the first 2 episodes, and they were really enjoyable. Yes, it's a little predictable, but the neighbor kid is fantastic and Bombay and Lorelai have solid chemistry.

It'll be fun to see how season 1 plays out. Do they go full Disney and win the championship? Or take the Friday Night Lights route and lose valiantly?

Watched both episodes and I'm feeling the vibe.

If you're looking for a gritty sports show, this isn't it. But I enjoyed all three Ducks movies (even the third. I know), and I'll enjoy this too.

If I had to call it now, I think they lose for 2 reasons.

1. They never lost in the movies.
2. They want to leave that for season 2.

Just finished episode 3.

Super cheesy, but it's fun. Got to learn about Bombay's history in the years between.

Wasn't he still a lawyer in MD3, but this episode Ignored that and said he went on to be a college hockey coach. I guess a lot can happen in 25 years.

Enjoying the show, like others have said, it's pretty cheesy, but it's good and funny.

Finally got around to watching this and have enjoyed it. I was very surprised to find myself slightly disappointed to be all caught up. Watched the films as a kid, now have kids of my own in currently participating in sports.

Great reminder of some of the important things in life.

There just needs to be a show about nick hitting on chicks. I'd watch that.

Fun episode. It was cool seeing [some of] the old Ducks back together again.

That theme song always gets me.

Bombay's character motivations seem weird. I know it's an obvious plot device for him to be the deadbeat guy who's given up on hockey and just wants to be left alone only to be redeemed by a new generation of kids.

It just feels extra forced.
