Agree with the last part. Obviously Steve Zahn and Connie Britton were liberal, but every time Paula and Olivia diatribed, they just put them in their place and pissed them off because all they knew were talking points of "oppression, colonizers, etc." and didn't really have any responses.cbr said:

I think your opinion is more on the cynical side. Even her son (on the phone) had to tell her to take advantage of the white woman offering money - she never saw it that way until he said it. And I don't get the impression she was going to use her like her son suggested.

And she didn't even look down at the envelope before she put it away, so she likely didn't see the amount.
But that showed that the money was meaningless to her at that point. Her heart was broken at being right back where she started after getting really excited about the new possibility because of Tanya's [admittedly over the top] enthusiasm for Belinda's work.
