Finished this up and really enjoyed it. I had no knowledge of the story or characters going in, so I had a fresh perspective. The first 30 minutes of episode 1, I was a little unsure because the fight choreography seemed really bad, but then I settled in and was ok with it. I thought the casting and the story progression was good. I thought the ending was going to take a turn to the right and instead turned left, which was cool. I really enjoyed this and will go check out the anime series on Netflix I heard about.

I liked it. I saw where it got some bad reviews but I don't think so. To me it captures the vibe of the anime.

However I have concerns about Ed. I've seen the anime so I know that's how she is but my initial reaction to seeing that acted out live action was a bit of annoyance. If that's how she is all the time in Season 2, I can see that grating on my nerves Jar Jar Binks style.

I'm a big fan of the show and that trailer seemed terrible. But maybe we'll be surprised…
Were you surprised? Main thing I disliked about the new show was their portrayal of Vicious. In the anime he was a looming threat and had an air of mystery in the LA version he kind of feels like Dennayrys' brother from Game of Thrones.

3 episodes in and I'm loving it. Don't mind that they tweaked a lot of stuff from the anime. If I wasn't a huge fan of the original I guess this might seem a bit campy at times, but so far it's been great.

Finally got around to watching this. From what I can tell, Netflix already canceled the show so there won't be a second season. I thought it was ok overall, certainly not the worst thing on Netflix. Probably a bit too niche for the average viewer.

What I liked:
Julia had purpose and a story arc.
Backstory to Spike & Vicious that didn't exist in the original.
Original version of "Rain" in the last episode. SUCH A GOOD SONG.
I really like what they did with Ana. Liked her much more than the original.
I actually enjoyed that Faye was part of the crew.

What I didn't like:
Some of the fight scenes weren't great.
I felt like there were times that the acting for Jet and Faye just weren't on.
No Edward for the season.
The rendition of Edward at the very end? Really, it's almost impossible to translate a character like that to live action so I don't know how I'd feel about a whole season of her.
