Norm Macdonald was one of the funniest people, imo. Also a comedian who was considered one of the funniest by many other comedians.

I thought about this earlier today too, he would sit there and live tweet a round of golf randomly. Or play by play of a basketball game, etc. I mean I know he was a big gambler but that's pretty good commitment to a bit. He also used to do "Norms Book Club" on Twitter for a while. That was pretty great. Norm is a icon to me...can't imagine there's many more entertainers that I'd be this bummed over.

SNL debuts October 2. Whatever you think of the current incarnation, no doubt they'll have a tribute, especially with the two guys on Update being so cognizant of the legacy they are part of.

Massively underrated movie. If you're a fan of norm and haven't seen it, do yourself a favor.

I was watching this last night with my daughter asleep on my side and I'm shocked she didn't wake up. I was able to keep from laughing audibly but my body was shaking, I just couldn't stop it. Norm was special, I also loved his telling of bad jokes for about 5 solid minutes of the Bob Saget roast.

Any kid from the 90s had the privilege of watching the finest lineup in the history of SNL. I can remember staying up with my friends so we could just sit there and watch him on Weekend Update. Farley was my favorite performer, but Norm was my favorite cast member. Bob Dole on The Real World is another personal favorite. He seems to also be one of the truly revered comedians of all time. When you see him with people like Seinfeld and Letterman, he's got them already, with just a look. He could have the biggest names in comedy eating out of the palm of his hand. There was no guy like him. Download his podcast episodes and listen, seriously.

I'll close with one of my favorite jokes of his.

They say that gambling addiction is a disease. Well that may be true, but it's also the only disease where you can win a whole lot of money.
