The original came out just after I turned 16. It was the first movie I drove myself and my friends to, and was one of the best theater experiences I can remember. Was just so fun and cool and original and kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Same thing but we rented it and watched at someone's house. Like 8 of us (4 couples). All the girlfriends gave the guys *!&@ for thinking we could do that to them IRL.

Ha, I initially read that as "All the girlfriends gave the guys head for thinking we could do that to them IRL" and was so confused for a minute.

I used to call one of my best friends and use the "Scream voice". She 100% knew it was me and still would absolutely freak out. That was a fun movie.

So do you think they've ruined that feeling (for lack of a better way to describe it) with all the subsequent sequel movies?

I am looking forward to 5 Cream. I saw scream 4 my last year at A&M, and the theater was jam packed, the best way to see a scream movie. Scream is also one of my favorite horror franchises because of the "realism"

In my opinion, yeah. Two was kind of fun, I remember thinking three was overkill (no pun intended), never saw four, and I seriously doubt I see five, unless reviews are somehow good. Though, that January release date probably tells us everything we need to know.

I agree with that. Also, these movies just interest me less than the did with I was a kid.

You know, because of the implication.

Junior year for me. Sold out opening night, and it was the day I got my ring, too.

Looks basically like the Halloween "re-invisionings". Same basic story just grittier. Yawn. At least with Myers you had a backstory that was intriguing. There's no backstory with ghostface, it's basically just a Scooby-Doo episode of which character can we create some weird motivation for.
The real question about Halloween is, when is Paul Rudd going to get off his ego trip and come back to the franchise?

So Paul Rudd DOES age, after all?

Whoa, David Arquette looks rough.
You saw the results of the "work" that Courtney Cox has had done and you picked out Dewey as the rough one?

I hate time. CC in the first Scream was about as hot as they come.

That's her getting so much plastic surgery that she's ruined for me. I'm assuming that Dewey and Gail will be divorced in this... or were they already divorced in #4?

There were rave reviews for the new Matrix too. I hope the new Scream is good, but you never know

In a normal entertainment reality, but welcome to Post-COVID movie release schedules where a friggin' BATMAN movie gets a March release.

Right now, dates and months are pretty much meaningless.

I think most of the Scream franchise has been released in the winter.

Shouldn't be too hard. The matrix only made about $63

Deadline seems to be projecting $20M+ this weekend, and projections are usually lowballed. (In this case it's probably not by much though.)

Matrix only did $21M through its first 5 days. (Still can't believe how badly it underperformed.)

If Scream manages to hit $20M in its opening weekend, I think it probably will outperform Matrix.

Who would've seen that coming a month ago? Crazy.

I think competing against Spider-Man hurt that movie way more than they expected. Scream definitely has an easier road with little competition except the folks who are still going back to see NWH.
