One of them is a Ghostbuster. One spent some time ****ing around with Godzilla.

Good lord, summer? Why not just postpone it again to summer 2025.

this show just worked perfectly with the season 2 fall release. Like AMCs fearfest, it should have always come out in september/october

Could be dealing with what Umbrella Academy is going to have to deal with. Vanya has become Van.

Bad opening scene as we started watching tonight just after the Uvalde tradgedy.

When I started the episode there was a warning card saying that after the Uvalde event some may find the following scenes distressing

Enjoying the series through 4 episodes. Looks to be following the "Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones" format.... heroes scattered across multiple places on different quests all converging back at the end to the big finale. (Just like they did in season 3)

Some thoughts:

*They should have given Will a better haircut that the Dumb & Dumber chili bowl. Oof.
*Hopper has freaking superhuman recover time to injury.
*Definitely a more dark feel to the overall show
*Vecna is as advertised.... a "big bad" with identity. Not the mindless Demigorgon/Dog/Giant Spider creatures of the past seasons.

Only watched 3 episodes so far but I'm confused what is really that much more horrorish than seasons past. This feels fairly in line with the show as a whole.

Watched it with my boys...and my oldest kids first comment upon seeing Will again, was "how is his haircut even worse this season?". Its always been an awful bowl cut, but now he is taller / more grown and it somehow that makes it worse.

It's similar but Vecna feels very haunting and the deaths are very gruesome

Just finished up episode 7… I LOVED EVERY EPISODE! Cannot wait to see how they bring this to a close but at least the setup is there.

Would it be the worst ending ever if the whole series was just a D&D campaign being imagined by someone?

My mom stumbled across some photo albums from the late 80's and a few of the kids at birthday parties had that haircut so it definitely seems on point for the era as awful as it looks.

If they hire JJ Abrams to be a consultant for the last season, then we can start worrying.

I just started it from season 1 and I'm annoyed but I remembered almost nothing about where we left off and what has/hasn't happened.

I think there's probably a lot of time not shown with Hopper. When we first see him in Kamchatka, it's probably weeks after we see him getting beaten. If he was in Moscow or Stalingrad, it would be about a week to Kamchatka by train, plus the time processing Soviet paperwork. Remember, he's been in Russia for like a year, so those two scenes could be a long time apart.

There was always that one kid that's mom still cut his hair like that. She had no idea the repercussions she was causing.

Just finished all eps last night. We enjoyed it overall but still a lot to cover in last two.

Yes on the haircut. And what is on that painting he is carrying around?

Hopper moving around so well on that ankle in like two days time was pretty crazy.

Yes, darker. Assuming it will be even darker in season 5. Maturing as the kids do? Sidenote: How odd is it that we as a society feel comfortable showing scores of dead kids and teenager's gruesome/contorted deaths on screen, but they weren't comfortable showing the rabbit death. Interesting values. Sorry, just thought it was odd.

Vecna seems like the boss to me, but Dustin indicated he is the Mind Flayer's "general". Do we think Vecna carries over into Season 5 or will ultimate battle be Mind Flayer vs. 11 and ST team?

I'm probably too much into this show.....I love everything about it. My theory is somehow Vecna created the mind flayer, maybe even the whole upside down as it is now....so he goes somewhere in 1979, takes 4 years to create a copy of Hawkins the in 1983 gets will and time freezes in the upside down

Not a bad theory. I def think he has been creating everything hive mind related, but I lean towards the Upside Down Hawkins coming over in a single event.

Dude is 001, hard to get more origin than that so I'll be shocked if he's defeated this season and that there's an even bigger bad.

Eleven is the one who created the first gate so she'll have to be the one who closes it by either defeating Veccna or somehow reversing what she did originally.

I don't think so. I think the upside down predates him, as well as the mind flayer. Hence the flickering of the lights in the house in 1959. Something was there.

The upside down is Lovecraftian horror, so everything in it is ancient, except Vecna. Either the mind flayer possessed or corrupted Henry, or he was already evil and just sort of adapted.

The clock is important. That's why his victims see it. There's a symbolism of time there, but I think it may be a gateway or something else.

Part of me thinks the upside down itself is the ultimate enemy, hence the vines. It is controlling everything in it and constantly trying to enter our world to take it over. The Creel house may have just been a really thin place between worlds.
