I thought joining the SEC might have elevated the opinion of southern states and made them think they were on equal footing with Texas....but based on the responses from this thread, it seems to have had the opposite effect and lowered Texas to the same status as every other "southern state".

So I guess it is time to throw out my brisket and start serving bbq chicken and white sauce with a side of boiled peanuts at my next family gathering.

Southern Comfort, The one armed Cajun with the Winchester rifle was badass. This movie made me scared of Cajuns until the Aggies started beating them like a red headed stepchild a few years later.

Texas isn't southern..it isn't Dixie. It's Texas. It's great and I love it, but you cannot compare down home Georgia to Texas.

Hustle and Flow gives a good depiction of the dirty 'Phi, but it ain't exactly a tribute to Southern Culture. Same with Deliverance and Sling Blade.

That was my first thought, but doesn't that take place mainly in LA and the South West? And his dream town is somewhere out west? Which is weird because his image is straight out of the Florida Panhandle to me.
